Roxas had to get stronger. He was tired of being treated the way he was, and was tired of only being significant because he could wield the keyblades. He was tired of not feeling like he could adequately protect his friends - and especially considering his delicate position where he was not really on any particular side, and on every side at the same time...he had to be ready for anything. And when Sora had to get stronger, he had gone to the Colosseum - Roxas had those vague memories from his Somebody. And thus when he heard that a new tournament was going to be held on the Colosseum world, he travelled there in secret to participate himself. Not even Axel or Xion knew - or at least he had not told them.
And thus, the Key of Destiny found himself standing in the familiar sandy arena surrounded by grandstands as he awaited his opponent - he had read the name on the board as 'Auron.' Somehow he felt like he had met someone with that name before, but he knew it was probably another after image of another of Sora's memories, and every time he had one of those feelings it left a bitter taste in his mouth. As far as Roxas was concerned, he had never met anyone named Auron, no matter what Sora may have done in his past - this was Roxas' own life, and he was making his own memories!
When his opponent appeared, Roxas narrowed his eyes at the larger man - Auron appeared to be someone considerably older than him, who had a distinct physical advantage due to height and build. He was also carrying a rather large sword. The keyblader quickly sized up his opponent, considering what his own advantages would be - hopefully speed, and perhaps the ability to overwhelm this man with his dual weapons. With that thought, Roxas summoned Oathkeeper and Oblivion, his two keyblades, into his hands as he took an aggressive posture. The sooner this was over the better - he needed this experience, and this chance to grow in his battle skills. He was going to do this for his friends, and he was going to do this for himself.
Saying nothing, XIII suddenly propelled himself forward, somersaulting as he neared his opponent to put himself into a position at the man's side, where he took his first swing, slashing both of the keyblades in the same direction aiming at the man's ribs. As soon as the action was complete, Roxas jumped into the air, using his smaller frame and acrobatic skills to flip over to the man's other side, where he attempted to mirror the same move, all the while keeping his face expressionless, stoic.
Just the way a Nobody should be - without feeling.
