[LT:Cobra Starship - Guilty Pleasure]The year is 2010. People thought things wouldn't change much after the new year, but boy were they wrong. The new year was nothing like anyone ever thought it would be. We were all expecting a better year... economy problem clearing up, better health care, more jobs, a few thousand parties, and a good time to be had by all. Guess we should have figured that nothing was ever as simple as that. I personally watched the ball drop in New York. At that time I didn't know what kind of horror that ball was bringing as the new year arrived. No one realized they were counting down to a year that would permanently mark American history forever. It's scary to even just talk about it you'd think the government had already done all that was possible to screw us over. No.. no, it's only just beginning. We've never seen times like these since World War I and World Ward II. Think I'm being over dramatic? See for yourself.
Ever heard of something called eugenics? No? Well, the most well known example of eugenics is Germany back when Hitler was in control, cleansing out anyone who didn't look, think, or act the way he thought the perfect race should. After some research I found out that America had tried something very similar to that... trying to mold the people into the perfect All-American dream family. Back then it didn't catch on all that well. The government had gone as far as to determine whether someone was "fit" to be an American. They called it a social cleansing. Said people should be happy about it. Some people were happy... the ones who were "fit". Men who were considered to be "unifit" were sterilized, people who were considered weak-minded or unintelligent were not allowed to marry, over 60,000 people were sterilized because they were thought to have a "mental illness." And you think economic recessions are hard? Eugenics became more than that and no one saw it as a hazard for genocide until World War II when Hitler started up the death camps. But now... now things are way out of control.
I figured the next thing to come back would be the draft, but I was dead wrong. Instead, the government has decided to bring back the idea of Eugenics. This time it was a lot worse than before. This time the people who are considered "unfit" are sent to "schools" which are actually modern day concentration camps so that they can be taught what the true American is supposed to be like, yet it has been automatically ruled that they will never be one. The government decides in all who is "fit". Mostly the people considered to be "unfit" are the ugly people, the overweight, the too skinny, the mentally ill, the people with dangerous ideas, the people who are gay, the people who are any race other than what is thought to be true American decent, and the people who are considered "out of the norm". All of those people are shoved into these "schools" while the people who are considered "fit" get to live the high life. It hadn't really gotten to be a huge deal until recently when there was a riot out in California. A group of people argued that this treatment was illegal... that they could live how they wanted they saw themselves as free people-- more power to them really-- but the government saw them as dead.
Now things are more intense than they have ever been. The "fit" people have begun to discriminate against and even sometimes kill the "unfit". Those willing to cooperate are allowed to be protected at the "school" but those who rebel are immediately deemed as dangerous and are dealt with immediately. "Unfit" people have begun to form clans outside of the school. They plan raids and protests against the government, but they gradually lose more and more of their members. America has become a sort of Big Brother society. Everyone is watched and everyone is supposed to be the same. Maybe one day they will decide this is a bad idea... but right now... it seems like there is only more and more fighting. Maybe it's not supposed to come to and end. Maybe this is just... the end of the world--- or America as we know it.
