In the Cave of the Veldt, a monstrous entity lay dormant. Sleeping, until that slumber was disturbed by the entrance of someone from the entrance of the cave. Awakening, the monster arose to defend it's den. Also hungry after it's sleep enough to barrage any unfortunate prey smaller than itself into submission, the fiend rose up on two hind legs and bellowed a thunderous roar. King Behemoth was the bipedal creature, rising up to it's full height that the hump between it's shoulders barely touched the cavern rooftop. The most powerful and dominant of all Behemoths, the King shook the cavern floor as it charged at the intruder.
With the weight and speed of a freight train, it barreled down on it's unfortunate prey without so much as a further warning. It first lashed out with a powerful Claw attack, swiping forward with nails as long and sharp as steak knives. Each one of it's steps shook the very foundations of the cavern, stopping just before it's victim to tower over it and attempt to ensnare it. That having failed as the newcomer seemed stronger than that of any ordinary human, it's horns started to glow a frosty white. Leaping back, it's gargantuan weight made stalactites and loose rocks fall from the ceiling almost enough to cause a cave-in.
As it gathered in a large inhale of breath, moments later it's exhaled breath came out in the form of a Blizzara spell. The spell shot out as a icy mist at first, but then solidified into a large rounded ice crystal. Pausing only momentarily, before it exploded and scattered shots of sharp ice shards everywhere. Just as large as it's claws, the falling shards that missed their targets would stab into the earth from the excessive force. Like a cluster bomb full of metal shards, but made entirely of ice. Not giving it's quarry time to pace themselves, the emperor of giants stampeded forwards with it's horns lowered as it covered the distance for it's next attack.

It was like deja vu... well, it WAS deja vu. Terra had already encountered this beast before, during her first adventure but back then, she had the assistance of all her friends. Taking this beast down seemed daunting even then, though, so the young mage felt absolutely bewildered as to what she should do against it now.
She and her present company had travelled across the Veldt in pursuit of a lost relic of Terra's. A cloak that she wore during her time under the guidance of Cosmos, one imbued with a special power - but far more important to Terra than simple power, were memories. Memories of her time as a Warrior of Cosmos. She wanted to retrieve it, perhaps for old times sake, and to restore herself to a former image but first, she needed to find it.
Rumours lead her to this former den of thieves, and that it's inhabitants had since stolen a cloak of vivid description, taking it to this cave where few would dare to venture. But since it's present inhabitants consisted of one giant beast, she knew she wouldn't find it here. But there was no time for retreat, as the beast bared down upon her and her friends with one of it's claws. She made use of her light frame and hopped back a fair distance as the lumbering beast swung out at her. But as the King of it's kind, it was far more cunning.
As Terra regained her composure, the temperature around her began to drop. Being as lightly clothed as her, she felt it quite harshly but a simple cold snap wouldn't stop her. The onslaught of shards would be the thing to accomplish this. Terra was forced to her knees, shielding her face with an arm, as the shards pelted against her. A few visible cuts were the damage caused, Terra's small frame once again saving her from complete impalement.
She looked up, cold and battered, to see the beast was not letting up it's assault. Terra needed to make her move now before it slammed into her and potentially finished her off. She had no curative magic so the offensive was all she could do. "Watch out!" she cried to her comrades, as she conjured up three small spinning icicles, which merged into one much larger icicle. "I'll... I'll have to meet force with force!" The much larger icicle, Terra's own form of Blizzara, was launched out to meet the charging beast head-on.
But Terra feared the beast may just charge straight on - it's size seemed to lend it credit towards this idea. So Terra put a back-up plan into action. Closing her eyes, her figure began to float in the air a few inches. As she rose, her body began to spin and within seconds, a mighty Tornado formed around her. She hoped that if the beast would charge into her, it would be met with the mighty winds of her spell and be thrown away... but her hopes were still faltering.

“Tch, you’re only raising me five thousand? How bout we finish this in one hand?” a crimson haired man would ask, his free hand pushing in the entirety of his mighty stack of chips. On the other side was a burly looking fellow, a beard hanging from his chin at least five inches down and rather unkempt. He had a scar across his right cheek, his face rough and battle hardened with a glare that could scare the piss out of any man. At least, that was most of the time anyway, at the moment his face was flushed with sweat dripping down from his forehead. He was nervous to say the least, the game he and the red head had having lasted well over six hours and his mind was beginning to falter. Maintaining the high level of concentration required for poker wasn’t easy, especially when you had an opponent you could hardly get a handle on and were trying to find a tell from. No, it would test even the most resilient of wills and his opponent continued to look disinterested in the entire affair as if the money they had on the line was mere chump change. He was a loose player, betting big, bluffing big, and winning big. He seemed to refuse taking small pots and always bet the right amount to get the most he could out of the veteran warrior. “Come on I don’t have all day, just fold already I’ve got this hand easy,” the man taunted, his free hand scratching the back of his neck as he did so. This slight body movement did not go unnoticed by the veteran though, his eyes trained to catch even the smallest movements and his mind began to go back, noticing that there was three other instances where the boy had done that, each hand having been a losing hand. The hands were spaced fairly far apart, but throughout the poker game that had originally consisted of seven people, it had been the only sign of a tell the man gave out. The burly fellow grinned at this turn of events, pushing his own pile in to match the cocky redheads raise, confident in his win. “Too bad boy, you got a tell but you played well enough,” he said as he laid down an Ace high flush. The redhead chuckled lightly shaking his head as his free hand palmed his forehead, “Really? Man this guy,” he started but before he could continue, a lovely young lady would come waltzing into the inn, a ding of the bell on the door notifying all of her presence. His eyes quickly glanced over, giving her a once over as her lips parted to speak. She addressed all warriors in the inn, pleading for their help in retrieving something from den well known for its thieves. Yes they were brutal bandits, that of which seemed to even scare the rather bulky man that sat across from the redhead, contrary to his appearance. The redhead couldn’t help but laugh once more, having given the man more credit than he should have as he laid his hand down and walked over to the lady. He stepped over to her, a smirk on his face with his hands in his pockets, casually approaching her to talk about her offer but was interrupted by the burly man putting a hand on his shoulder, “You were holding a full house?! You little prick, you scratched your neck, you’ve done that every time you’ve had a crap hand!” he shouted, his anger quite apparent and frightening some of the other inhabitants a tad. The freelancer sighed as he turned around, brushing the man’s hand off his shoulder, “It’s called a trap slick, I gave out that fake tell the whole game so when it came down to the wire on a hand like that, I’d be able to get you to call my all-in. At any rate, suck it up you lost just get some more money and I’m always willing to take it again if you wish to play once more,” he spat, his smirk curving into a cocky grin and a shrug of the shoulders. He began to turn around to address the lady once more but as he did so the man, overcome with rage, attempted to strike his head from behind. It was entirely predictable though, the comparatively puny man anticipating such a reaction and quickly tilting his neck to dodge the punch. He then grabbed hold of the man’s wrist, twisting out his hip as he lifted him up seemingly as easily as one would a feather. The man went over his hip, slamming into the ground only scant inches away from the woman and being knocked out with just the single attack. “Heh, seems like he wasn’t as tough as he looked. Well that aside, I suppose this works well enough for a first impression, but I have yet to introduce myself to you which is beyond rude. My name is Felix Maximilian, #1 freelancer of Radiant Gardens with a 99.99% success rate and I gotta say… I’m mighty interested in your offer,” he spieled, his right hand extending toward her for a shake as he gave his signature smirk. X---Some time later---X A loud yawn escaped the freelancer’s lips, growing tired of all the walking that he had been forced to do to get to this den of thieves. It was quite irritating and while he had yet to tell the woman that he’d be charging for his services yet, he’d make sure to add the lack of proper transportation to the bill she was racking up. His eyes glanced over to her to as his hands cupped behind his head, quickly looking up to the sky as he attempted to think of small talk topics to alleviate the boredom of walking miles upon miles. “So yeah… that cloud kind of looks like a behemoth over there,” he said pointing to it, not aware if anyone had actually looked over to it, “I wonder if that’s some sort of omen,” he whispered silently to himself before moving onto a variety of other small talk topics. Within moments though, they’d reach their destination and the first thing noticed was the surprising lack of thieves in what was supposed to be a den full of them. A frown curved against the freelancer’s lip upon noticing that, not a man who enjoyed being lied to. As he was about to voice his opinion on the matter, a loud roar echoed from the cavern ahead and the approach of a creature that was surely gigantic. Said creature soon made its presence well known, charging at all present and attempting to slash all of them with its sharp claws. “You know I really hate being lied to miss,” he stated before quickly jumping back to evade the blow, the claws skimming across his chest lightly and leaving a small scratch. He let out a small “hmph” at the minor damage incurred, quickly using his Mass Manipulator to reduce his mass twenty times. With said mass reduced, he quickly sprinted toward the monster, no hesitation in his movements as it readied its Blizzara attack. When it shot out, he would already be swiftly sliding under the beast, getting to its back and rolling to the side to avoid being whipped against the floor with its tail if it opted to do so and had actually seen the freelancer slide underneath it. Regardless, he would quickly stand up as the sound of ice crashing against ice was heard; an event he noticed was his “employers” doing with a quick twist of the neck. “I certainly didn’t peg her as the brawler type but I must say I am impressed,” he stated as the sounds of winds followed soon after. It seemed she was using her magic to form a tornado, something the beast surely wouldn’t go into willing but with the freelancer’s advantageous position, why not make a combination attack? With that thought in mind, the freelancer would quickly pivot on his feet as he sent a spinning back kick into the behemoth’s posterior, manipulating his weight upon impact and releasing soon after. If hit with the kick, even the heavy behemoth would be blown back by the force of his kick and sent hurtling into the tornado to be knocked up into the sky and presumably fall down to its death. Then again, these beasts were rather tough and if it were taken down that easy, the freelancer would be quite disappointed. “I still can’t believe that was an omen,” the freelancer would note, remembering the cloud in the sky only moments ago... and all the other ones that looked like monsters.

As the humongous arrow of ice collided with it's chest, the ice began to dissolve as if melting. But instead of steam indicating there was any heat, the cold chill of hoarfrost cracks rippled into the being as it it was being frozen over. Having cast a Blizzara spell itself was a indication that the beast was of the ice element, and thus it also absorbed it as well. Re-energizing the being, the Ice Behemoth continued it's charge.
The wind element, however, was entirely different. As fierce winds rippled around the young woman, the Behemoth King skidded to a halt before the spell. Noticing the young man slip underneath him, he tried to lash at him with it's tail but missed as he rolled to the side. Being kicked from behind as if with the same mass from another King Behemoth, the monarch was shoved violently into one of the three smaller tornadoes, and pulled into the vortex of the larger tornado as Terra formed into it's eye. Which meant that the titanic fiend would be thrown into the roof of the cave, as large stalactites and boulders began to fall from the roof of the cave on top of the two.
Slammed against the rocky ceiling and once having gained control of itself leaving the windy vortex, the beast came down upon the two humans with Shockwave. Slamming it's feet down onto the ground to create a massive shockwave, and hopefully the two beings and any accompanying party members in the process. Once it was back on solid ground again, it's horns began to glow an icy white once more. Again a frosty cast of magic came from it's breath, but this time instead of a large snow crystal, it became a large spiked snowflake made out of icicles. The snowflake then shattered as Blizzaga, sending out large blades of ice everywhere including into the Behemoth King to heal itself from the previous attack.

"I'm sorry but... this beast must have moved in from the Veldt!" Terra called over to the man, after hearing his accusation towards her. The Veldt, which loomed just outside, was home to many monsters. It didn't come as a surprise to the esperkin that one of them might've taken a liking to the cave. This drew a concern as to weither the beast had killed the cave's former occupants or not, but it was a concern to dwell on later.
After the unsuccessful Blizzara spell (now informing Terra that some of her magic would be useless here on out), she elected to use a different tactic. As her Tornado spell came to an end, the beast attempted to land atop them both. Terra made a swift hop backwards, getting away from the beast's massive bulk yet she was caught by the aftershock of the attack and lost her footing. Sent tumbling backwards towards a rock formation, Terra had little time to recover before the King made it's next move. The Blizzaga shards sped towards Terra but instead of taking another battering, took shelter behind the rock formation, allowing the cold stone to bear the brunt of it's assault.
"It's very quick with it's attacks... can we win this?" she said quietly, hoping to keep to herself with her thoughts. Stepping out from her cover, now like an icy pincushion to behold, Terra swept her arm about in front of her. Before her, five orbs of light emerged from nothingness and hovered for a moment before being 'pushed' away by the palm of her hand. The five orbs of Holy flew in unison, homing in on their target, the King Behemoth. But Terra wasn't about to let the beast get off easily now.
"Do you have any Fire spells?" she called over to her companion Felix before drawing her arm up at an angle and snapping it back down into the floor. The spell she cast this time was Fira, as an arrow of flame appeared in the floor and rapidly trailed along the ground, seeking out the King Behemoth before detonating, hopefully upon it's underside.

With his attack having been rather successful, the freelancer couldn't help but smile, always enjoying when his Mass Manipulator had the desired effect. As the beast was tossed about in the Tornado, his employeer insisted that she had been unaware of the beast's presence in the cave, insisting that it must have moved here on its own. His facial expression show a bit of scruitny but he quickly shrugged his shoulders as he grinned lightly. “Well I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you're cute,” he replied smoothly, as the behemoth's back slammed into the ceiling of the cave... which was certainly unfortaunate. He hadn't wanted her attack to go to waste but the stalgites that would now come down as a result did make him regret the decision a tad. Regardless, the freelancer would take a quick breath as he made use of the footwork years of Martial Arts training instilled into him, dodging the stalgities rather easily. While this was true, because his attention was focused soley on the falling spikes of death, he didn't notice the shockwave coming at him until the last minute. “Crap,” escaped his lips in a small whisper, a grimace on his face as the shockwave sent him flying back into a cavern wall, slaming roughly against it. He fell to the ground, coughing up blood and clutching his right rib cage with his left hand... he still hadn't recovered completely. 'It might have been the adrenaline that made me ignore it before but I'm still at least two weeks away from recovery... this does not bode well for me,' he began to think, picking himself up, gritting his teeth in pain, 'But I will not allow my record of success to be tranished any further... and I won't let her get hurt, my pride as a freelancer is on the line more so than my life,' he finished his train of thought, glancing over to Terra before noticing another irritating attack, more shards of ice threatening to freeze anyone caught. Knowing that the attack was coming made it much easier to evade though, and while the stalagites that had fallen had threatened to kill him just a moment ago, ironically enough they'd be saving him. With a dive and a quick roll here and there, Felix made his way over to Terra while avoiding the onslaught of glacial shards by hiding using the stalagites as cover. As he got closer, his rather acute hearing picked up a few quiet words of doubt, a cocky grin spreading across his face and a bit glad he got closer “I told you before didn't I? My success rate is 99.99% so you needn't worry in the least, although I do apologize if you wanted to keep that to yourself but I had to get closer for my next attack,” he responded quickly, switching his mass once more to twenty times less, making it over in front of the behemoth in less than a second. With a quick shift of the hips as his Orthadox Thai stance fell into place naturally, Felix sent a right uppercut into the beast's jaw. Upon impact he would once again change his mass to twenty times heavier before swiftly releasing Mass Manipulator. If hit by the attack, the freelancer was rather certain part of the beast's jaw would shatter into dust but whether it did or not, Terra asked him an interesting question regarding his abilities. “Well I do have one although it might not be what you're used to seeing,” he replied as his body was suddenly ingulfed in flames. Without hesitation, the freelancer would follow up on his uppercut regardless of it's success, his hands reaching up to grab the beast's nose as he jumped up. If said grab worked, he would tug with all his might, his right knee, attempting to smash into it's jaw and smash it up even more had the earlier attack been successful. Yet what goes up most come down though, and if at all possible to do before a vicious counter-attack, Felix would try to push off it's nose to skid a few feet back before being stopped by a stalagite as his stance fell into place. “Just continue shooting them spells off, I'll keep him distracted,” he would state although perhaps not as convincing as his stance faltered a bit, heavy panting following... fighting with broken ribs was difficult. OOC: Mass Manipulator - 4 switches used before deactivation. 3 post cooldown start
Fire Manipulator - Activated, 2 post duration.

As Terra shot her Holy attack at the beast, it weaved behind one of the rocks that had fallen to diffuse the spell and avoid damage. As it came around the other to charge Terra, her Fira attack hit it dead-on before it could spot it. The resulting ground-based explosion sent it into the air, where Felix came for it with his Mass Manipulator jaw-punch. It would have been a good combination attack like before, except for one small flaw.
Unlike before, the Behemoth King was able to control itself in the air, so it could still attack or dodge if it wished. As Felix's attack flew up to connect, it sensed the immense amount of mass behind the melee blow from the first time and anticipated it. Twisting it's immense body as it landed, it rolled through the air and was only barely scraped by the punch as it ran past it's scaly head. Retaliating, the Behemoth lunged at Felix with it's horns and used Heave to launch Felix into the ceiling, which was already close considering they were already in the air. The buck with it's horns was frighteningly fast as if a catapult, not giving the freelancer any time to kick off with his feet or grab onto it's horns.
Landing with a tremendous thud which shook the earth and released more dislodged rocks and stalactites, the Behemoth King continued it's charge towards Terra around the ground-based stalagmites. As it neared her, having seen her attack from earlier, a portal of light appeared at the tip of it's horns as they charged into a brilliant white. Shooting it's own version of Holy, the attack came out as a immense beam that swept the floor of the cavern around Terra from left to right, throwing her up into the air from twisting beams of scorching, branching light if it made contact as had been done to him. Soon enough, Felix came back with a following Fire Manipulator to his jaw which broke upon contact. Physical damage, along with fire damage from the attack, making physical contact with Felix and a Burn status effect affect made it roar in pain as it was double-effective to it's weakness. It began smashing through the rocks covering through the field with it's horns in a rage, destroying all cover and possibly the human's frail bodies into the rocky walls in the process.

Terra had seen the effectiveness of her attack and noticed one key thing - the creature had difficulty when struck from below. Her Fira spell would be useful, but she couldn't continually conjure it... but she had another spell that would hopefully send the beast skyward. But before she could make her move, the creature was already blasting away at her with it's ray-form Holy. Forced to evade more stalactites from above, she ducked back into her cover and kept herself down low to allow the beam to pass over her. She certainly felt the heat from it though, as it singed her back while it passed over her. She clenched her teeth, eyes watering slightly as she felt her back burn.
The King was making things difficult for them both, and their rather inadvertent combos were turning up nothing. But after looking up from her cover and seeing the beast enraged after the flaming assault from Felix, Terra saw her timing was right - the creature was about to ruin her cover. Making a desperate dash to the side to get away from it's flailing, Terra made a less-than-graceful dive to the side, crashing to the floor in the process. As she did so, she twisted and swung her arm out once more.
This time, four bolts of lightning would surround the beast and slowly converge into it. They would merge into a centre point before hitting it hard with a larger bolt. She hoped her Thundara spell would produce enough of an impact to throw it off it's feet again - something with such a large bulk would have a harder time recovering from a shock like that. With a little luck, Felix would be able to land another good attack and the beast would soon meet it's end.

The freelancer couldn't help but curse as his punch had been dodged, more than shocked at a beast of such size could move it's body in the air, furthermore in such a small area. However the beast had defied any grasp of the Laws of Physics the freelancer had, the fact remained... it dodged and was now countering. Thanks to sheer instinct, the freelancer had managed to slam his arms against another to block the attack somewhat as his head tucked in. Before his back slammed against the rock celing above, the freelancer had also managed to release the air in his lungs. While it helped, the freelancer made quite an audible grunt of pain as he fell back to the floor. He grit his teeth in pain, the throbbing sensation from his spine sending agony throughout his body. Even with the adrenaline pumping through his body, the pain was becoming quite hard to ignore and now he had another problem... he was bleeding. “Shit,” he spat silently as he felt the lukewarm liquid pour out a rather large gash on his left side. It seemed that when he had been thrown up he had scraped against part of a remaining stalagite. While he had been lucky enough to avoid hitting any major organs, the fact remained that this injury wasn't going to be fun to deal with. His vision was hazy, his breathing was growing erratic, and staying concious was becoming an increasingly difficult chore. The freelancer had seen better days, and while normally this amount of damage wouldn't be too troublesome, his decision to rush back on the field before a full recovery from the events at Kingdom Hearts had been foolish. His body was breaking under the pressure of yet another battle that was beyond the limitations of a human such as him. A human born weak and weak even to this day, one that despite all his training, had been unable to finish his mission on Kingdom Hearts. He failed to protect Stroud as ordered and even if attacking Stroud was a justified response considering the circumstances, he had failed to insure that he was the one to put the beast down. No, it was another man that had appeared on the battlefield, one that had patiently waited for the freelancer to do all the work before stealing that honor of slaying such a strong opponent. It was that masked bastard who had fled just as swiftly as he had arrived that had him in this funk and making stupid calls. “I'll show that bastard...” the freelancer mumbled as his eyes filled with rage and his right hand twitched, “I won't let him get away with it...” he continued, his hands pushing off the ground as he struggled to get up, “And I won't fail any mission ever again!” he finished as he had fully picked himself up, letting out a howl of rage and pain. He panted heavily as his eyes noted the slowly fading remnants of what seemed like it was an energy attack. It traced back to the behemoth and had been aimed damn near everywhere, the freelancer having avoided it due to his momentary “nap”. Terra on the other hand had looked to suffer some damage from the attack and that was more than enough to give the freelancer incentive to destroy this beast. During his short dirt nap, the additional stalagmites that had falled had been few and not all that close to him. It was a change of fortune, one that he appreciated as he charged toward the beast to deliver the firey attack he had planned earlier. Despite his injures he had still delivered his line about being reliable, not one to make a girl worry (or at least attempt) and meant it now more than ever. As his knee cloddied with it's chin and he heard that bone shattering crunch, Felix had indeed pushed off the beast's horn as originally planned but now had a slight addition to his plan. Instead of waiting for the beast's next attack and acting accordingly, when he had pushed off the beast's horns he had planted his feet against a stalagmite that had been behind him. He would push off of it to avoid the beast's thrashing about at that point, soaring above it now that the stalagmites up top had been all but knocked down. He would then allow gravity to do the rest, for once without altering it in anyway. No, it would simply be his body weight and a flaming elbow smashing into the beast's spine. Even if it was knocked up with Terra's attack, he was certain he'd have enough room to make the attack successful, even more so if the beast was indeed stunned by the lightning spell... it'd make following it up even easier. Indeed, for as his elbow found it's a nice spot in a crevice in the beast's back, Felix would attempt to mount it before unloading punch after punch into it's back, doing his best to end this fight quickly... he wasn't going to be able to stand much longer. Unless otherwise stated on their character's application sheet. It's another unspoken 'rule-of-thumb' in roleplay that is not mentioned in the rules because of how obvious it is, so those that haven't applied it need to be clarified. You're both correct with your cooldowns though!)
The thrum of Thundara energy rippled across the cavern interior, caging Behemoth King as it came from all sides. Stopping it's momentary thrashing, it closed in on the beast and threw it up into the air. Adding onto the intense fire damage from the previous round, and allowing Felix to begin his chase sequence with the beast. His fire-enchanted elbow found it's way into it's back, another painful roar uttered from the beast's jaws. The combination attack had worked effectively again, throwing the heavy beast back onto the cavern floor.
With Felix on it's back and no longer caged by surrounding lightning, the beast began to buck around more violently than any animal Felix may have mounted before in his life. Because it was bipedal, it used it's hand to reach around behind it and used Claw, attemping to slash the damaged pest off it's back. Certain it had found the spot on it's back the small human had relocated, what with it's massive hump and unique webbed fin on it's back. Felix's punch to it's jaw had broken it and it was also bleeding green blood from it's mouth. It would be unable to use it's ice element to heal itself for some time.
Spinning around as it tried to get Felix, it noticed the female spellcaster of the humans once more. It could cast another spell at her, but she would keep using the cavern walls to bleed itself. While the vile male human was clinging to him, using an area effect spell would only hit it as well. Turning coarse and charging Terra, the beast jumped up into the air again and sundered the earth using Shockwave. Attempting to crush the red mage beneath his feet, he would also send them both flying back away from him using the aftershock pushing out from himself as well.

The mega-monstrosity was progressively getting struck more and more by the assault of the pair - was this a sign of good tidings? Terra believed the beast was either growing tired from this relentless spell-slinging and hammering, or it was slowly succumbing. This was a hopeful thought from Terra but one that shouldn't have distracted her for too long. As the beast groped its back with a claw to tear away Felix, it spotted her once more and made a leap at her. She wasn't in the best of positions to evade this assault, but attempted to do so anyway.
Another desperate dive to the side of the beast, but the speed and power of the shockwave would send Terra hurtling towards the side of the cavern walls. Her dive was almost extending for a few seconds but before her bones would meet their rocky demise, Terra engulfed herself in a brief flash of light. It wasn't a spell, but it did save her from a painful slam, slowing her quickly to a complete stop in midair. The light faded, leaving Terra's Esper Form in its wake. She hovered in the air for a moment before letting herself land daintily on the floor. Despite her more wilder physical features, she still had an air of grace about her - grace that may be translated to fear.
She never liked using this form, even moreso after the return of magic to her world but the situation called for it. A monster of this calibre may not let up as easily as Terra had earlier expected; it still had plenty of fight left. But so did Terra. Balling a clawed hand up into a fist, it promptly engulfed in the flames of Fira once more. Sweeping her hand across thee ground in front of her, Terra let loose three arrows of flame. The trio initially split wide, digging into the floor, covering a large area but all arcing, homing in on the same target - King Behemoth. The explosion would be far more powerful, once the three met beneath their designated target, almost comparable to the higher tier spells. Terra kept a close watch on the boss as her attack flew on, her stance at the ready...

OOC: Ah well I mainly ask because of a chat you had with Steiner before in the C-Box when it was referring to the raid he was fighting me in. Since I had negated his attack by not being thrown across that battlefield, he was bummed out that he was wasting the attack but you said that’s why you added the duration so that kind of thing wouldn’t happen. That led me to believe it might be the post after but regardless, I’ll edit the OOC of the last post to say the duration was up and just start this post when it should have deactivated near the end of the previous post (which I will also fix due to my error). Finally, I’m giving a name to my internal cool down between elemental manipulators for the sake of ease. IC: With his attack having been successful and the fire around his body dissipating, the freelancer knew that now more than ever he was extremely vulnerable. He was unable to manipulate his mass to give him high speed movement or devastating physical attacks, and wouldn’t be able to manipulate the elements for at least another minute. With that noted, he would need to be very careful in how he proceeded since one more good blow was all the creature would need to put him out. As he mounted the beast, before he could even attempt to punch it as he had planned, it began shaking furiously, the freelancer surprised as he fell forward and grabbed tightly to avoid falling off. It was one hell of a bull ride, one he hadn’t experienced ever before but when one’s life was on the line, humans tended to be able to do seemingly impossible things. And that was what the freelancer did by holding on to the behemoth as it thrashed about but soon enough it went to attack, attempting to dig its claws in his back. He pushed his upper body up, the claws scraping against his chest and taking his shirt while also digging into the beast’s own back a tad leaving a small gash behind. “Why you hitting yourself?” he joked despite his grievous injures as he saw the beast suddenly charged forward toward Terra. As it would seem, the beast was more concerned with the mage than the freelancer, a mistake he would soon regret. As the behemoth got ready to unleash another Shockwave attack, Felix would unsheathe the blade strapped to his back. He had almost forgotten about the blade, regretting his foolish decision to attack the beast with his hands as opposed to his katana but didn’t let his thoughts wander too long. No, they would immediately focus on attack once more, the red-head attempting to plunge the blade deep into the beasts back with all his might. He would grip it tightly if successful and begin twisting it, hoping he had hit some major organs, artery, or would at least find one with the twisting. Either way though, his main reason in stabbing the beast was not just to attack, but to provide him something proper to grab onto and prevent him from eating the shockwave attack. If the beast still survived that attack along with Terra’s Fira assault, Felix would be ready to stand toe to toe with the monster in just a moment. “Just give me a minute and I’ll get in front of him again so you can focus on shooting off those spells!” he would shout, hoping that his boss could buy him just one short moment before he could activate his next manipulator. Steiner used Fire Sword on Hadria in the anticipation Zack would hit her towards him; you stopped flying towards him, but since Steiner had already 'cast' Fire Sword ahead in time, he can't go back and say he hadn't used it. Just like a baseball player can't say they didn't already swing their baseball bat just because someone prevented the ball from being thrown. Besides, what I was talking about was the duration of Charge!, the only power Steiner has a duration of, that Steiner was asking me about as well during that conversation; it had nothing to do with that incident in the raid and all and was a completely separate conversation. Anyway, that's fine with your powers ending at the beginning of this post and not at the end of the last post, as long as you aren't using an action of that ability on me which would pro-long it's duration.)
Behemoth King made a painful roar in protest as it gashed it's own back while apparently ripping off the leeching human's shirt, instead momentarily turning it's attention on the female mage to stop barraging it with spells. As it landed after it's Shockwave to try and take them both out from the force of energy pushing out from around it's body, Felix would unfortunately be hit by the wave of seismic shocks projecting outwards from it's scaly hide even if shortly after stabbing his katana into the beast's back. In the same manner the beast had inflicted harm on itself trying to peel him off him, an eye for an eye. Another excruciating bellow reverberated from it's lungs as it staggered slightly, reaching back once again with it's claws to grab the male off him while the female was distracted. It could not yet reach the man that was scrambling for dear life on it's hump and behind it's scaly dorsal fin, snarling and growling in frustration.
It had not noticed while attempting to remove the painful metal splinter in it's back, what the mage had turned into until the doublecast Fira lit up and shot in it's direction. Exploding underneath it as it was it's weakness, the beast had come up with an idea just before it was sent flying upwards once more. With it's back to the cavern ceiling and all the stalagmites already fallen at the beginning of the battle, instead of twisting control of it's own body in the air like last time let the explosion of the spell slam it's back into the cavern wall. Even if the man had jumped off it's back, the cavern wall was less painful than the magic damage it had received.
Small ice crystals spluttered out from it's mouth, and once again it's horns glowed white as it's jaw snapped and froze back into place from ice magic charging from within. Gravity pulling it back to earth, it once again unleashed an icy breath in the form of Blizzara. A large crystal orb formed from the misty exhale, shattering as it sent small shards of ice everywhere. Next, it turned it's attention back to the young woman as a guttorial growl reverbrated from deep within it's chest. With a ice-shattering roar, it lunged forward and used Heave on the floating esperkin, using a quick buck of it's horns to launch her skywards.

Terra had already hopped up and begun to glide away from the beast, ensuring a safe distance... or so she thought, anyway. Shards of ice sped past her but thankfully in her position of near-zero-gravity, she twisted her body about to evade the shards with more grace than previously. In her presumed safety she readied up another spell to lob at the beast. This time, she would sweep her arms twice over to conjure up the light of Holy and send the orbs off in the direction of the beast, but her improved magical power allowed her to volley away more of the orbs. They flew faster and converged quicker onto their target though, a far deadlier potency but Terra hoped the beast wouldn't shrug it off like it did her last attempt at this spell.
The monster still wanted a piece of her though, as it made a long distance lunge to close the distance between them again, but this time accompanying its lunge with its horns. Closing her eyes, Terra began to spin in mid-air. It seemed like little effort to her for such a powerful spell... This time, she created three whirlwinds, all circling around her quickly, acting like a shield against the beast. Her improved Tornado spell would see these tornado's merge into one great and powerful cyclone around Terra as her figure twisted and turned within. Unable to see the beast though, she would only assume the worst - upon reaching the end of the spell, she would gracefully twirl her body backwards, away from the body of the beast and hopefully evading a crushing, should the beast attempt to land on her.

OOC: Ah I see my mistake then, C-Box gets jumbled up a lot with how fast paced it is so perhaps I misread something. At any rate, I got my manipulators back now so it's time to kick this behemoth's arse : D! IC: Yet again Felix took another blow, gritting his teeth but not flying back into a wall this time due to his tight grip around the hilt of his blade. The pain hadn't been all that bad this time around, Felix figuring that since he hadn't been slammed against a cavern wall as per usual, that the attacks' effectivness had been severely limited. Whatever the case, the freelancer was happy and while beginning to feel lightheaded from blood loss, knew he could go on for a bit longer. And he would certainly have to as the fire attack launched by Terra erupted beneath the beast, sending it flying up to the ceiling. The freelancer cursed inwardly at this, having hoped to stay on the beast longer but knew it was best to skedaddle at this point. Without a second thought, he quickly rolled off the behemoth's back, landing on his feet as he let out a short breath. He had left his katana behind, knowing that had he attempted to pull it out that his life would have ended right there. Furthermore, by leaving it in the beast it would only go in deeper when the hilt slammed against the cavern roof. “Although I'm not looking forward to shifting through this thing's guts to retrieve it afterwards,” he commented, cringing at the thought. He took a deep breath as the room got cold once more, meaning that another ice attack had been performed by the beast. His eyes focused as he got in a sprinter's stance to dodge the first shard of ice that had the intent of impaling his head. He would then take off as fast as he could, rushing toward the behemoth as it lunged toward his client again. He smirked at it's action, hearing the sound of wind fill the cavern much like it had before but now it sounding far more frightening and, by extension, a lot more powerful. Not wanting to let his client down, Felix moved to insure that the beast would be eating this blow, running past all other shards on his way to the beast. Much like before, Felix would attack the creature from behind, although with a flying knee attack. Another difference between his previous attack though was instead of manipulating mass, he manipulated the earth around him.. As he jumped forward, the several pieces of broken rock around him would begin to surrond his body. As if attracted by a magnet, the rocks would stick to him and form an improtu armor around him that would protect him from any attack. Yet this technique served a purpose greater than just protection, for if his knee attack landed which it most likely would, the beast's feet would be weighed down by rock, effectively slowing his movement by half. While the force behind the blow wouldn't be as great as it was with Mass Manipulator, the freelancer figured it'd be enough coupled with the slowing effect. Regardless, the freelancer would quickly step to the left as his feet landed on the ground, hoping to once again avoid any possible backlash from the beast's tail. Furthermore, this also put him in a better position to observe how well the attack worked and see if the beast finally died from this combination attack. Whether it did or not though, with the armor of earth now around his body he felt confident he could continue fighting, albeit for only a few more minutes. “If that doesn't kill it I'm not sure what will,” he would comment, a smirk on his face as his Muyi Thai stance fell into place with a smirk curved against his lips, “although I'll keep trying until I find out.”OOC: Mass Manipulator - CD over and ready to use Fire Manipulator - One Post CD left Earth Manipulator - Activated, 1/2 post duration[/center]
