Tifa could hear the sounds of battle behind her. She listened carefully trying to judge the distance from where she was and to where it was coming from. She knew that the battle was heading in the same direction that she was running in. After all, the others were folloeing Kadaj with attacks. And Kadaj was going after Rufus, who was right beside Tifa. It was only a matter of time before the remnant would be able to weasel his way over here, and start coming after both her and Rufus. So for now, she had to just run. Run as fast as she could in hopes of being able to retreat safely. She could feel some pain in her legs from all of the attacking that had been happening. Plus she had been doing so much running to. Running to get caught up with everyone. And now running away. Though the running away should not be associated with fear. For she was not afraid. She was running away to help the safety of another's life.
It was still hard for her to adjust to this. Helping her former enemy out. Trying to keep him alive. She knew that at one point, he practically had her killed with that gas chamber. That was the closest she ever came to death, probably. A small portion of her mind recalled this, and this part was wondering why she didn't just throw Rufus to Kadaj. That was the reason why they were fighting. Because Kadaj wanted to get Rufus. So if Tifa just stopped helping...the problem could be solved. But Tifa was not going to do this. It could be due to her big heart. Tifa was always known for being a caring person, always having plenty of room for love in her heart. But she also wanted to be the bigger person. She wanted to show that she didn't have to hold grudges. That she could be better person then he was all those years ago. She wasn't like him. And she never wanted to share a common trait with him. Thats why she was taking on the role of the life savior, as opposed to when he had been the life taker.
Tifa looked over to Rufus, and she could see that he was struggling with her pace. She knew the shot in the leg made his legs almost useles. She was surprised that he was doing even this much. She had an idea though. If he bent his knees, his feet should be off the ground. Tifa would still be supporting him though and then she could handle the running. It would just be a little extra weight. But the monk was certain that she could handle it. "Bend your knees. So your feet don't have to deal with the running. I can handle it..." Tifa instructed him. She tried to run even faster now. Vincent and Tseng couldn't keep Kadaj away for too long. He would be here within moments. And she just had to get away.
Tifa turned her head when she heard something from behind her. Speak of the devil, she saw Kadaj. Aiming an attack at her. Right at her spine. Tifa knew that this wouldn't be a good area to be hit in. She would be even further weakened. But she couldn't drop Rufus. But something came between her and she didn't feel the blow to the back. She saw Vincent, using himself as a shield. She knew that Vincent wouldn't take all of the blows. She'd have to keep on dodging too. But dodging and supporting Rufus seemed like quite the challenge. She managed to dodge a good amount, though she got cut on her right shoulder and her lower left arm. She could feel the blood coming from her. And it was coming out quickly. The attacks had been tough. And it did weaken her a bit. But Tifa had to keep on going.
Tifa felt another cut come to her arm but ignored the pain. She looked back over to Rufus noting the attack aimed for his face. Tifa dropped Rufus from the blow of this and she just couldn't let Kadaj's scheme work. They all had fought too hard. She watched him waiting by that portal to grab Rufus. She watched as Vincent aimed an attack for him. She had to help too. The pain from the wounds were able to lead her to her limit break stage. She started out with the first part of it, the initial attack. She ran toward Kadaj with the Beat Rush, a series of very short, quick and strong punches. Her aim was precise and her punches quick. She had waited until Vincent finished his attack, though came in the exact moment he did. She didn't want to give Kadaj time to get ready for more attacks.

It didn't matter what he did. Tseng was going to need to take the draw slash to keep Tifa and the President safe. Gaia, if he had seen it before he's unleashed the quake 3, he could have countered it by using the same materia in another manner. Well, he couldn't control fate. Kadaj had moved his position and Tseng was in the middle of the slash and the retreating pair. Though, the cloud of sand hid the attack from his eyes. This was going to be rather painful and he knew it.
At least Vincent had noticed his warning and managed to avoid the blunt of the Quake 3. That's when Tseng attempted to shift a bit so the slash would only clip him and dissipate from making contact. However, it hit him a bit worse then he had hoped. Instead of it simply clipping his arm, Tseng had turned and managed to have his chest and right arm clipped. Thankfully, he didn't drop his gun from his right hand.
His left had shifted to the wound and he knelt to point the gun as Kadaj walked out of the cloud. But, instead he noticed that the attack had launched Kadaj over him. Tseng felt his eyes widen and he cursed under his breath, the pain now bothering him from the draw slash.
"Rufus!!!" Tseng yelled, hoping to warn the president and Tifa. Tseng attempted to fire at Kadaj. But, it was in vain. The Turk turned and began to advance to stop Kadaj. But, he wasn't moving as fast. It seemed the wound had taken a lot more out of him then he'd anticipated.
But Vincent and Tifa seemed to have the battle covered and it wasn't like Tseng could attack without hitting Rufus or Tifa anyway. Kadaj might use his bullets against the pair. It was up to Vincent now. Tseng wasn't going to be any help especially as injured as he was. On a positive note, it wasn't as serious as when Sephiroth almost killed him in the ancient temple. Hm, the turk was always in mortal danger it seemed.

(Can I just skip my turn? I also give permission for Kaddy to g-mod Rufus in his next post. ^.^ - I can't really think of any reply. I think my muse if finally drained. I'll spit something up... *sigh*)
Rufus heard everything that was going on around them. He heard the Quake materia and he heard Tseng hit the ground after Kadaj's attack. Rufus shot a worried glance in the Turk's direction. Hopefully he was still alive. But Rufus wouldn't know. Kadaj was aiming an attack at Tifa since she was helping the President escape. The only way to get her out of harms way was to shove her away and let Kadaj take him. But wounded he would be no help. He heard Tifa's comment about letting her carry his weight. No, that was not going to happen.
That's when he felt the cure materia. It was warm and his leg was healed with little pain. Though, it seemed Kadaj got to her first. Tifa let go and he pulled away. Though, before he was able to fire his gun, Kadaj grabbed him. This wasn't going to be good.

((OOC: *Huggles Roofie* Dx. I'll get you out this mess so you can have a chance to let your muse recover =3))
The instant the Remnant felt his gloved hand take a fistful of the President's shirt, Kadaj glanced both ways over each shoulder to see how the situation around him was advancing. The reflected bullets at Vincent had missed thanks to the cloud of dust and sand that was created after the Death Gigas had landed upon the beach. The silver-haired man obviously thought that the Ex-Turk was still within the cloud when the shots were fired. That was of no concern though, for Vincent had taken the bait already by distancing himself from the himself and the others by attempting to defend the Dark Portal. Looking over his other shoulder, Kadaj's eyes noticed Tseng off in the distance, wounded from the Draw Slash but still able to stand up. Probably the adrenaline fueling him and his desire to save the President. Admirable. Stupid, but admirable. He also seemed reluctant to fire back at the Remnant thanks to how close he was standing to the white-suited man. Kadaj was OK with that.
Finally there was Tifa, who had foolishly released Rufus after taking a couple of blows from Octaslash, before powering up her own rage and releasing it into the form of a Limit Break. That same aura that appeared around Vincent now shone brightly around the female monk. Kadaj's face just lit up though as everything was already proceeding better then expected. With everyone out of the way and no one touching the President except himself, Kadaj just smirked as he threw up a second Dark Portal underneath his and Rufus' feet. The one that Vincent was guarding was a decoy, working beautifully to get the annoying Crimson Turk out the way.
Kadaj chuckled as he raised his free hand up to his forehead, using his first two fingers to wave off the heroes as he and the President fell into the portal beneath them, disappearing into nothingness. The moment the last thread of Kadaj's hair had passed through the murky, swirling darkness underfoot, the Portal closed instantly including the one behind Vincent, leaving only the sand of the beach below behind. Kadaj's presence had vanished completely. He'd obviously left this world along with the President.

(OOC: Way to go to powerplay your post, Kadaj. You didn't react physically to me and Tifa attacking you, and then you go and open up more than one portal, which your powers don't say you can do. Guess it doesn't matter now though, but us staff may have to have a word with you about editing that last post, heh. xD;;
Even after everything that had happened, he had no regrets.
With Cerberus pointed at Kadaj, daring him to make a single move so he could pull the trigger, the rock solid expression of Vincent's porcelain expression was nothing more than determined and unmovable. As soon as Kadaj had moved, however, he had dropped into the ground along with the President, falling into a dark portal created under them as if falling into a sinkhole. Before he could jump through the portal behind him as he whirled around to do so, the Corridor to Darkness had vanished, leaving nothing more than sand and silence in their wake.
And then all at once, it was over, and they were gone.
A green glow emited from the Cure materia slotted in his gun, and Tseng was cast with Cure, followed by Tifa and then himself, the curative energy restoring them back to maximum health. He ejected the materia into his left hand, and then walked over to Tseng, returning his materia back into the palm of the Turk's hand. Then Vincent lowered Cerberus, and with a whirl of his hand and flash of his cape it was back in it's holster, it had it's safety back on and was back in it's holster so fast it was as if the previous action had never happened. He let his cape fall over his shoulders, to completely surround his body, and looked at the leader of Rufus's henchmen.
They had a long mission ahead of them, even if Vincent was no longer a Turk anymore.
"Kadaj had the chance to kill Rufus right before us, but he didn't. He wants something from him, more than revenge, and until then he'll keep him alive." he said curtly and rather professionally, getting to the point. Rufus wasn't a strong man, but he was very smart and tricky, and he would do whatever it took to fool Kadaj long enough to survive until someone came to help him if he couldn't help himself. "Rufus will make a noise if Kadaj tries anything, and when they do, we'll hear him again among the worlds. Good luck with your search finding him, we will help you as much as we can, come with us if you didn't arrive in your own gummi ship." He turned to Tifa, his black raven hair now blowing in the ocean breeze behind him, tugging at the tatters of his cape.
How tired and sore he felt, despite being healed, he still felt exhaustion like the others.
His crimson orbs seemed to glow bright in the sunlight in contrast against his pale skin, as he glanced softly at Tifa while striding towards her, inhaling deep to catch his breath and speak out what he was about to say to one of his closest friends that he adored. "We did well, but if we want to find Rufus and stop whatever Kadaj is planning, we better get moving. Whatever we do... we best inform Cloud and the others. I'm back to the gummi ship and off-world; you are free to join me willingly as well, if you keep your guard up around me." he spoke to her in a soft drawl, the harshness and hard edge in his voice gone, just wishing to sit down in the chair in the airship and let the craft take him and Tifa off this strange land. Kadaj's presence had completely gone from the land, and he had the feeling he would see him again shortly, this last thought lingering in his mind as he took a deep breath and walked slowly as he lingered for Tifa and perhaps Tseng to follow him off the beach and into the far distance.
Vincent has left the thread.

Tifa felt the hand slipping out of her grip. And she was trying so hard to hang onto it. Her face looked pretty pained and her eyes shut slightly. But then she lost it. And the moment that she did let go, it was over. All of that effort that was put into trying to eefend Rufus. To try and keep him away from Kadaj. It had all been a failure. Tifa wasn't even sure why she chose to use one of her Limit Break abilities. It probably wouldn't have done any good. Tifa had always been stubborn and passionate. And both of these traits seemed to shine quite a bit in the battlefield. She was too stubborn to admit the loss in this battle, and also too passionate in fighting to just back down. Such contrasting things coming together seemed so odd. But both just were different parts of Tifa. Both resulted in Tifa trying to continue the fight, by using her Beat Rush attack.
Despite the fact that Tifa was very quick in the battlefield, she didn't seem to be quick enough to continue this fight though. Things were over. Kadaj managed to open a new portal and get away, dragging Rufus along with him. Resulting in Tifa punching the air, where Kadaj had been standing a moment ago. Realizing that it was over, Tifa stopper. She stood still for a moment, just thinking of all that happened in sucha short amount of time. Tifa had taken a pretty good beating in this battle. Though for the sake of the battle, she decided to ignore all of the thoughts that she was having about the pain. And when she didn't have her mind focused on the battle, she recalled her wounds. The wounds that had almost been forgotten. Suddenly, almost every part of her body started to hurt. She really didn't stop and rest at all during the battle. And even though it was a loss, she still needed one
Tifa fell down to the ground and she sat. She bent one of her legs, leaving her other one extended. She rested her arm on the knee of her bent leg. As she sat down, she looked around. Not that far from her, she looked over to Tseng. Tseng must have been suffering the most from this loss. Being a Turk. Tifa wasn't sure why she was reacting to the loss so much. Rufus had been her enemy for awhile, and only recently became an ally. Maybe it wasn't so much him being kidnapped that she minded. Maybe it was the fact that she lost to Kadaj that got to her more. Yes, probably that. She absolutely hated Kadaj, and she couldn't stand the thought of him beating her again. And now, she actually did lose to him. And it really did hurt her inside.
Her brown eyes looked over to Vincent, who then cast a Cure spell on her. Tifa felt herself growing a bit stronger from the materia, but she still was weakened from the battle. With luck, she would recover soon. Tifa watched Vincent telling something to Tseng. She couldn't quite here what they were saying. But she didn't exactly care too much. She'd probably be filled in with the details soon. For now she just tried to regain some more strength. A moment later, she looked up and saw Vincent standing right before her. Vincent mentioned that they would still need to work hard if they wanted to stop Kadaj. She mentioned that they should inform Cloud and the others about it. That was a good idea. Though Tifa did partly worry. Was it really a good idea to tell Cloud? This might burden him more. And he always seemed so busy. But Cloud had defeated Kadaj and even Sephiroth. They needed him to help.
Tifa nodded her head."Alright. I'd like to come with you Vincent." Tifa said and she got up and started following him back toward his Gummi Ship. She really would like to go home to Edge and see Denzel and Marlene. But this would have to come first. She was certain Denzel and Marlene were in safe care. Even if it wasn't her own. Tifa walked, trying to keep her head held high. She was wondering what the future would hold. For her, and for all of her allies. Tifa has left the thread
{THIS THREAD WAS SIMPLY AWESOME GUYS! I'm so glad this was so successful! Especially for my first thread as Tifa. Thanks so much for keeping this alive. It was great, and we simply must do this again in the near future!

[You're right. It was a lot of fun. I hope we can do something like that again in the future. Well, the thread is over. Go us.] ---- Tseng was barely able to stand to begin with. It truly was the adrenaline keeping him on his feet. But, the moment Rufus was pulled through the portal with Kadaj, the Turk felt his rush spike. The panic had set in and he wasn't sure how to handle this. If they were on Gaia, he'd of instantly ordered a search of the area. Yet, they weren't on Gaia. They were in the middle of a foreign land near the ocean. Kadaj had also teleported somewhere off world. All Tseng could do was stand there and think. The instant Kadaj dropped through the black hole, Vincent had holstered his gun and was headed toward the Turk. Tseng felt the cure materia heal his wound and the dizziness instantly disappeared. It seemed that Vincent was able to recover his materia for him. Well, that was splendid. The Turk couldn't even keep his hands on his own materia without Avalanche's help. 'Kadaj had the chance to kill Rufus right before us, but he didn't. He wants something from him, more than revenge, and until then he'll keep him alive.' Tseng shut his eyes for a moment, expression blank. When he felt better, he nodded. "That's what I'm afraid of." He stated. This was going to be a long day. Tseng had to find Rufus as soon as possible. The longer that Kadaj had Rufus, the worse it was going to be. '...Good luck with your search finding him, we will help you as much as we can, come with us if you didn't arrive in your own gummi ship.' "Thank you.... but I need to work on my own." Vincent walked away at this point. Tseng knew that if he went, the resources to find Rufus would be condensed and that Tseng was not going to go back with Vincent and Tifa. He needed to find Rufus, not explain everything to Cloud. If Tseng couldn't find Rufus, then he'd move to talk with Avalanche. Tifa quickly followed after Vincent and Tseng was now alone. With and deep breath, he was quickly off. They needed to find him. Before it was too late. [Exit and End Thread]
