[Pft, just totally walk off. Make me bring up something to get you to take me. XP - But yah, I did decide to bring up that girl the two rescued from earlier! Muhaha! Guilt Trip!~ Maybe. I hope it wasn't too suckish.] ----- If Tseng was killed, the Turks would not go into disarray. Tseng had been mortally wounded before and they had managed well enough. But, Tseng really did not want to die and everything was all in defense. He really didn't want to hurt any of the Avalanche right now. Two of them had actually attempted to keep Rufus safe. He was not going to risk the President's life that way. Yet, even with a gun to his head, Cid laughed. Tseng was slightly confused by his sudden amusement. But the Turk stayed quiet and didn't move a muscle. Something was wrong. Yet, being compared to Reno wasn't a great compliment. But he could have insulted him worse by comparing him to Heidegger or something. Reno was actually pretty resourceful when needed. That's when Cid spoke and took a step back, their eyes still locked. Tseng really didn't care if Cid was flying or not. The pilot could do whatever he wanted. Though, the continuing insults were probably overkill. "Yes, I may be alone. But I don't need the others to protect myself from possible threats."When Cid was deemed less of a threat by putting his weapon into the sad, Tseng shifted the gun a bit from Cid's head. He would have put it away but Cid still had his pole arm drawn. That's when the comments rang in again about how he was a coward and that he should just shoot. "Go on then. Pull the trigger. Lets see if you're really the big man you claim to be. The Turks murdered countless people in the past right? What's one more gonna do? Fire. I dare you!" Tseng shook his head a moment before Cid began to tut. He even let Cid push the gun away from his head. There was absolutely no threat in Cid's expression now. "I thought so. If you can't even kill one little man, what good would you have been against Kadaj's summon? Fly up there in a helicopter an' ask him nicely to stop? You're such a joke." Tseng scoffed, "If you had been Kadaj, I would not have hesitated. But I don't kill because I feel like it, Highwind. It's for defense. If that makes me a joke, then you have some sick humor." A second after he finished, Cid turned his back to him and began to walk off. This is when Tseng holstered his weapon again. The fight was over. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your life here. I'm leavin' to go see Cloud and see whether or not your bu*@$&%# lies about this 'truce' or real or not. Try not to get a sunburn." Then he was gone. Tseng shook his head again, talking to the sand now. "No, I won't stay here for much longer. I'm sure a portal will open up soon enough." Tseng turned to come face to face with the women from earlier. "Um, sorry...I... I just wanted to thank you for saving me earlier. I didn't mean to startle you"Tseng was more then surprised for this. He hadn't actually been thanked for helping before. "You're welcome." But she obviously wasn't done talking yet. She asked if he was from around here and if he needed a place to stay for the night. Of course he answered that he wasn't and lied about already having plans. She seemed content and disappeared into a small crowd. Now he needed to go find somewhere he could sit down and plan out what he was going to do now. Again, he was ALONE in the middle of nowhere. Poor Little Turk. The girl then continued off after the pilot from earlier, having seen him fighting too. "Um! Sir!? I wanted to thank you for helping us out earlier. I don't think the palace guard would have been able to help us in time. If it wasn't for you two, I probably would have been taken." The girl smiled lightly. "Is there anyway I can repay you? The other didn't need anything..."

It wasn't long before the sound of footsteps treading through light sand reached the dragoon's ears. They sounded too light and... lady-like for them to have belonged to Tseng. Which was good in any case. Cid was fed up with having to be within the same place as the enemy... having to breath the same air as him. It was disgusting. Vincent had a lot to answer for, for deciding to make up this truce without Cloud's consent. Otherwise then Cloud would have a lot to answer for. The pilot just didn't understand any of it. They managed to defeat Sephiroth and Kadaj in the past with AVALANCHE alone... why did they need to team up with the enemy now to defeat the same people? The Captain's hands remained buried within his pant pockets as he came to reality when hearing the footsteps approaching him from behind. Pausing, Cid turned as he heard the female voice call out to him.
"Eh? Oh... no problem I guess. Though I don't recall that fool doing anything other then using his pea-shooter to try and stop them." Cid said as he glanced from the woman to behind her, staring at where he had just walked from. Cid's eyes narrowed as he walked back towards the corner and poked his head out slightly from behind the building, spying on the Turk as he seemed hopelessly lost once more. Quickly pulling his head back to avoid being detected, the scruffy pilot turned to face the Agrabah resident once more. It was now that Cid let out a small sigh and shook his head from side to side, before realizing that it would be much more fun to see the look on Cloud's face after he brought the Turk to him personally. Then he'd really get the stuffing kicked into him. A smirk spread across his lips as he nodded his messy-haired head back in the woman's direction. "The 'other' as you call him, is Tseng. He's a bit of a stuck up bastard and never asks for help when it's offered. Typical of him really. If you wanna repay the help we... I
[/b] gave to you and Agrabah, go over to that sorry ass fool an'tell him to meet Cid at the entrance, alright?"[/color] The pilot adjusted the goggles upon his forehead before reaching one hand up to the goggle strap and pulling out a new toothpick hidden inside. Plopping the small wooden stick between his teeth once again, Cid nodded at the civilian before proceeding to make his way off towards the entrance where he'd wait for Tseng. He didn't like the idea mainly because he was a jerk and the enemy, but the thought of having Cloud beat the crap out of him was too tempting to pass up. Granted Cloud'll just mope about and do nothing then whine about why Cid actually brought him here, but there was always a chance the pair would exchange blows. This thought kept Cid amused till he realized he had walked enough to reach the entrance to Agrabah. All that lay beyond was endless desert. A perfect place to wander out to and call the Shera. Yet he had delivered a message and was going to wait a few minutes to see if the stuborn Turk would show up. So, the scruffy pilot turned and folded his arms before leaning against the huge stone wall that made up Agrabah's main line of defense. Here he waited and watched the road ahead of him to see if the Turk would reveal himself. [/blockquote]

[Eh, this is the best I could do. Thanks for saving my life with the whole getting to Radiant Garden thing. Jits said I should have Tseng/The girl have a heat stroke and work from there. I'm glad it didn't come to that. Lol. It's been a great thread so far! Don't let me down and let's hope I can kill Tseng's pride enough that you'll let me onboard. Lol] ----- 'Eh? Oh... no problem I guess. Though I don't recall that fool doing anything other then using his pea-shooter to try and stop them........The 'other' as you call him, is Tseng. He's a bit of a stuck up bastard and never asks for help when it's offered. Typical of him really. If you wanna repay the help we... I gave to you and Agrabah, go over to that sorry ass fool an'tell him to meet Cid at the entrance, alright?' The girl seemed instantly intimidated by the language the taller man was using. But, she sheepishly nodded. "Um, I'll do that for you." The younger girl smiled lightly and nodded. "Thank you again, Mr. Cid." With that she carefully shifted past the pilot and back in the direction of Tseng. She hoped she could catch up to the man in black before he got too far into the town. It took her a bit, but she caught up. "Tseng?"Tseng paused and glanced at the girl with a strange expression. "...Yes?" The first thought was how the girl knew his name. Yet, it soon became apparent. After a little difficulty and some re-phrasing, she told him that he needed to go meet Cid at the entrance to town. Tseng wasn't sure if this was a trap or a way for Cid to get his rush of power. The idea of going to the entrance would be a slap to Tseng's pride. But, the president was in danger. Tseng took a moment to think it all through, the girl watching him the whole time. But, the only logical way he could make it back to Avalanche's base of operation would be to swallow his pride and ask Cid to take him. Well, Rufus was way more important and looking on his own was getting the Turk nowhere. "Fine, and where would the main entrance be?"The girl smiled and quickly grabbed his arm, leading him in the general direction. "It's right there!" She said, pointing and letting his arm go. "Thank you again and take care. Come back anytime. You're both more then welcome around here. Even if you do dress funny." The girl smiled and left Tseng looking a little awkward from that comment. Yah, he had to clear his throat and continue walking. He soon spotted Cid and approached the Pilot. "Is there a reason you sent her after me?" He asked, not getting too close to the pilot.

The blond-haired pilot was busy leaning against the large, thick stone wall that housed the gigantic hinges upon which rested one of the two massive wooden doors used to protect Agrabah from invaders. His arms were folded across his chest, which were toned and strong since his t-shirt sleeve were short enough for people passing by to see the muscles on his arms. Cid's eyes were closed though as his head was lowered, relaxing and coming close to actually nodding off while he was waiting for the Turk to show up.. if he did at all. Cid had worked with these fools many times in the past and knew that Tseng was the one who was stuck up the most. Still, if the dog of Rufus wanted a way off this world, he'd need Cid's help. Sure, waiting around for a new portal to show up was always an option, but would Tseng even be in the right place when it revealed itself, and would it even take him anywhere useful?
~I still can't figure it out why Cloud would want to make a truce with Shin-Ra. I thought he hated them as much as Barret and the rest of us did...?~ Cid thought to himself as he remained motionless in his leaning-against-wall position. The hustle and bustle of the other residents getting on with their lives eventually all droned out into one mumbled sound, that was until Tseng had approached and spoke out to the pilot. The Dragoon's eyes opened as he glanced in Tseng's direction, taking his time to watch him before slowly pushing his arms back behind him to lift himself up off the wall. Returning his arms to their folded position across his chest, Cid turned and watched the Turk in silence for a minute longer. "Well I figured ya might need a friend to help ya find me, least ya get lost an' end up dyin' in here somewhere." The scruffy pilot said as he smirked and turned away from the Turk slightly to glance over his shoulder and off out into the desert. After a couple seconds, Cid eventually glanced back towards the Turk and gave him a smug grin.
"Anyway, I have me a set of wings as you know, so i'm going to find Cloud and get all this crap straightened out. Thought you'd like reminding that I have a means to get off this world and you don't." Cid explained once more, rubbing it in again as he knew as well as Tseng did that he desperately needed to get off this world to continue his search for the tyrant, Rufus. Cid was going to give the Turk a lift in the Shera to Radiant Garden, but it wasn't going to be the Captain to offer the invitation. Nor was the Turk going to ride for free either, should Tseng manage to stoop himself low enough to ask for help. Obviously a traveling fee was going to be paid and Cid was chuckling to himself as he pondered what price to set. Hey, the Turks were loaded, Cid knew this. Paid professionals and all.

[We're coming to a close, of course it's going to get short! ^_^] ----- Cid opened his eyes and glanced back at Tseng. The comment took a moment to come out and Tseng bit his tongue for the most part. "I'm glad you care so much about my health." Tseng stated in reply, his calm and blank expression was there. Cid needed to have a reason for calling Tseng back here. There had to be a catch. Did Cid really think he was going to have Tseng beg for a ride back to civilization? The smug grin almost answered his question. 'Anyway, I have me a set of wings as you know, so i'm going to find Cloud and get all this crap straightened out. Thought you'd like reminding that I have a means to get off this world and you don't.' "I am aware you do. You have mentioned it on more then one occasion." Tseng stated, not really wanting to drop himself low enough to ask for Cid's help. But, it was necessary to rescue Rufus. Though, he knew Cid better then most people. The ride was going to be a price. But what would it end up being? Would admitting that a Turk needed Avalanche's help to rescue the President be enough? Or would he hold it above his head and keep it as a future favor to be returned? Tseng really didn't believe Cid would ask for Gil. Gil would be an easy commodity for the turk before ShinRa's collapse. But now it was a pointless coin because Munny was the universal currency in these worlds. "What price do you have set if I request your assistance." Tseng asked, waiting for a response. He was highly curious as to what sort of thing Highwind would ask for in return. But Tseng needed the help to get Rufus....

Cid merely grinned to himself as he heard the words coming from Tseng's mouth as he stated he was well aware of his situation. The brown leather gloves resting on his hips lowered themselves to the pilot's side, before raising one of them back up to wave slightly before him as he spoke back to the Turk. It was clear by the tone of the Captain's voice that he was enjoying this scene, having to provoke the Turk to ask for assistance. "Yeah, I know. Jus' wanted to remind you again." Cid said, his grin still visible on his face as he tilted his head slightly to one side, looking down on the Turk slightly. The sun was still beating down on Agrabah and Cid was looking forward to returning to the Shera where there were tea making facilities and even an up-to-date air conditioning system. Sure it wasn't as hot as this on Gaia unless you were sent to the prison under the Golden Saucer, but Cid knew he'd need such a device on board the Shera one day.
He was returned to reality however when the Turk spoke once more, asking what price had to be met in order for him to gain the pilot's assistance. Cid frowned slightly and folded his arms across his chest, shaking his head from side to side slightly. "I'm sorry, I think I got too much sand in my ears. You want to say that again for me?" Cid said, replacing his frown with his infamous smirk. The Turk asked what price had to be paid. The options were near limitless thanks to the Turk's resources, but what would be the best choice? Gil? Well that was only useful on a select few worlds here. Munny? Cid glanced at the Turk and sighed to himself. Tseng more then likely only had what Munny the recent Heartless has dropped. That was a no too then. The scruffy dragoon tilted his head slightly as he eyed the Turk, his bright blue eyes catching sight of the firearm tucked away within it's holster. The dim green glow of materia could be seen to the trained eye and that then gave the pilot an idea.
Yuffie has more then likely stole all of the Captain's materia when he was whisked away to Traverse Town a few years ago. Tseng still had his connections, surely? Perhaps he'd be able to get some materia for him. Cloud was a bit of a tight arse when it came to the materia he and AVALANCHE had collected during the time before Meteor and wasn't willing to part with it. Cid's eye twinkled slightly in delight as he nodded to himself slowly. "Sorry Tseng, I don't think that's good enough. What it is you really want to ask me?" Cid repeated, chuckling to himself as he turned around slightly and started to slowly walk off towards and through the entrance to Agrabah, occasionally glancing over his shoulder at Tseng to see if he was following him still. After several paces, the blond-haired pilot stopped and turned back around as he waited once more for the Turk's answer, still smirking.

Cid was enjoying this far too much for his own good. Normally, Tseng would probably have shrugged it off and either stolen the ship or left and found another way. However, Rufus was in danger and Tseng sadly needed Cloud and Avalanche's help in getting the President back. So, it seemed that Tseng needed to beg for Cid's assistance. I'm sorry, I think I got too much sand in my ears. You want to say that again for me? Hm, it's probably not just sand. Tseng thought to himself, feeling a little better even though it was just an internal comment to himself. But what Tseng was worried more about were the terms if Cid really did accept to fly Tseng to this Garden to meet with Cloud. However, before he had a chance to ask again, Cid said that he needed to ask another question. What he really wanted to ask Highwind? Tseng kept his very blank expression before apologizing and asking his question. "My apology. Then I suppose I'll get to the point since the subject of price is almost irrelevant in the situation." He paused for a moment. "I would like to ask for your assistance of transportation, so I may speak with Cloud as well. If you'd be so kind to give it." Tseng also added a rather Wutainese bow, accepting his defeat. It was humiliating, but if this is what he needed to do to rescue Rufus, then so be it. In a way, he just hoped Cid didn't draw this all out too long. But Tseng was sure Cid wouldn't ever let the Turk live this down.

The dragoon of AVALANCHE started to tap his foot upon the sand lightly as he transferred his weight from one leg over to the other, folding his arms across his chest as he did to whilst staring carefully at the Turk. He waited for a moment as the pilot tried to figure out what might be going through the smartly-dressed man's mind. No doubt he was furious, yet he was doing a good job covering it up. Perhaps he was more concerned over Rufus to be angry at the Captain? It didn't matter. Cid was in command of this situation now and the Turk wouldn't even get to LOOK at the Shera until he heard what he wanted. Yet the first part of Tseng's sentence caught the pilot's attention, though no words were spoke in reply until the black-haired man had finished speaking. Even then when he did, Cid just grunted slightly and turned to his side, casting his eyes off across the street to a vendor not too far away. A few people were browsing his good and chatting amongst themselves.
"Why Rufus?" Cid asked, his facial expression changing to a rather blank expression as he continued to watch the civilians and the vendor, doing his best to try and sell his wares. After a short pause, the scruffy pilot looked back at the Turk with a stern glance. "There are thousands of people who require aid all across the worlds... how come it's just one guy who makes you panic so much?" Cid asked. He wasn't meaning to stall the fact that Tseng wanted a flight to Radiant Garden, as the pilot was actually interested in the Turk's reasons. Granted he'd just come up with some crap like; 'That confidential' or something. Cid figured it was worth asking, but it didn't really matter at the end of the day. Turning back to Tseng at least, Cid smirked and then shook his head. "No." The blond-haired pilot said in reply to Tseng's request for help. "Sorry, but the ferryman requires payment if you're to travel on board his ship." He continued, keeping his arms folded across his chest as he stared the Turk down again. He had already made up his mind and the Captain of the Shera wanted materia as payment for transport to Radiant Garden.
"I know who ya are and what type of person you've become." The pilot started off, turning and walking off a few paces before pausing, twisting around and returning to his starting position again with a smirk spread across his lips. The Captain held out his hand and rubbed his index and middle against his thumb, raising his hand up and showing the gesture to the Turk. "I'll give you a ride to Radiant Garden to see Cloud, if you give me some Materia. I'm sure Yuffie has stolen mine and I doubt I'll ever see it again." Cid said, nodding as he spoke. "But not just any ol' crap! Somethin' useful in a fight like a Time materia or a Barrier materia." Cid demanded, flicking his wrist a couple of times in a gesture saying to make Tseng hurry up and offer the goods. The Time Materia would be useful for increasing his own agility in a fight. The pilot wasn't the fastest fighter out there and the Barrier Materia would be handy for Reflect, to use against the many spell casters out there in the worlds. The pilot nodded his head and leaned forwards slightly, staring at the Turk. "That's the deal. A one way ticket to Radiant Garden, for a Time Materia."

'Why Rufus....There are thousands of people who require aid all across the worlds... how come it's just one guy who makes you panic so much?' Tseng was surprised by the question. But, Cid probably didn't care like when he asked about how Rufus escaped. So, Tseng wasn't going to grace him with an answer. "I guess you wouldn't understand but I keep my promises and follow my orders."This was too much, the "No" hit Tseng like a ton of bricks and Tseng wasn't really sure what to do at this point. It seemed that this was all a waste of time. Why did he even agree to come back and speak with Cid? Maybe because there was that twinge of hope that he could find Rufus. But his request had been deni- What? Tseng instantly began to listen to Cid's conditions. Tseng knew about the fee ahead of time. So, this didn't come as too much of a surprised. So, Cid was only saying no till Tseng named the right price. Haggling wasn't Cid's strong point and maybe Tseng could win this without losing too badly. 'I know who ya are and what type of person you've become.' "...and what person have I become?" Tseng asked, an unsure glint in his eyes as he watched the pilot. Where did that come from? That's when the price came up. Tseng didn't show any emotion on his face. That's when the turk folded his arms. "I've told you that I wasn't prepared to leave Gaia. I only have two materia, neither of which you are looking for, sadly." Tseng wasn't exactly happy about saying that. But it was the truth and he couldn't do anything about it. Great, it seemed he was either going to owe the Avalanche member the materia or have to walk to Radiant Garden.

Cid tilted his head and let out a short, unimpressed grunt. It was obvious that the Turk wasn't going to fully answer the question regarding why he'd do pretty much anything for the President. It was admirable dedication though... or mindless brainwashing. Who knew? Rufus had close to an infinite amount of capital for spending on goodness knows what. Well... perhaps not anymore thanks to all the chaos and confusion that the Heartless had brought with them. It was odd to see people still being affected by them, but there were more then likely thousands upon thousands of worlds out there that had yet to even come into contact with the Darkness and it's Heartless minions. The blond haired pilot said nothing though in reply to Tseng, at least not right off the bat. He took a couple of seconds to continue his staring match with the navy-suited man.
"Blindly followin' orders, sure. Don't ya ever wish to be able to stop and think on yer own for once? Hah! Who am I kiddin'?!" Cid said with a shrug of his shoulders before waving his hand before him in a gesture that resembled him pushing something away. So Tseng was a devoted dog of Rufus and nothing was ever going to change that it seemed. No point talking about it anymore. Besides, Cid and Tseng weren't exactly the best of friends and it seemed that wasn't ever going to change either. Cid smirked to himself through as he caught the expression that Tseng gave off, after he heard the pilot say 'No' to his request. That looked like it gave his heart something to think about for a moment and that only caused the scruffy dragoon to chuckle. "Yer always so serious." Cid said, continuing to hold his smirk as he watched the Turk out the corner of his eye, having turned away from him slightly and folding his arms across his chest.
Yet the Turk's question to Cid's statement about knowing what type of person he had become, ruined all his fun. The pilot turned back to face the black-haired man and just glared at him for a second. "Yer the leader of the Turks, ya fool! If anyone can get the Materia I want, it's you. And yer not gettin' on the Shera until you give me what I want. Yer not ridin' her for free. Yer the enemy, remember?" Cid spoke with a mild annoyance within the tone of his voice. The toes of his right boot were tapping against the sand underfoot now and the pilot stood his ground, keeping his arms folded across his chest and watched the Turk in silence here on until he said something that would satisfy the pilot's needs and ultimately end up getting the Materia that he requested.

[It's a black suit now, Cid. Navy in FF7, but black in Advent Children!]
------
Tseng felt a tinge of irritation, but managed to hide it. He never blindly followed orders. He always thought things through and tried to accomplish the mission. He'd used orders as loop holes before. The order to find Zack Fair, the missing experiment, was to save him from the army and get him back alive. Though, ShinRa meant for the turks to find him and eliminate him. Another time they bent orders was with killing Verdot. The Turks only faked his death and hid him underground. But, as long as he disappeared from ShinRa's eyes, it was good enough for them.
But Cid would not care open his eyes to see that ShinRa was not all about killing people and the planet. Vincent, at least, understood that people can atone for their sins and Rufus was one of these people that was. Tseng believed it with all his heart.
That's when Cid had realized how tense Tseng had gotten with the "No" and proceeded to mention it. "Yes, Highwind. I usually am serious." He lied. Tseng had moments where he joked around and enjoyed himself with the Turks. But, when the situation called for it. Tseng was always prepared for the worst and a serious demeanor could save your life.
"Yes, I am the Leader of the Turks. But it doesn't mean I can make materia fall out of the sky. I don't know what I could do to make it happen. The best I can do is give you my word. But I doubt you'll accept that. What would you suggest I do, Cid?" Cid's irritated tone went ignored for the moment and Tseng responded with a calm and clear response to it. Was Cid trying to make the price impossible to reach? It was highly possible that that was the case.

Cid shook his head and let out a disappointed sigh as he lowered his arms down from his chest, tucking the thumbs of both hands into the pockets in his jeans, letting his arms hang loosely at his side. Keeping his head tilted and staying silent for a while longer, the scruffy pilot just watched the Turk again, trying to figure things out about him. They had worked together in the past when Cid was part of Shin-Ra. He was different back then... probably because they were both part of Shin-Ra and there was no hate between them. Shin-Ra were working on the Space Project back then too and going into outer space as well that the dragoon cared for. Times change and the people living in those times change as well. Tseng was an exception though, apart from the obvious of gaining more power over the Turks as work for them progressed. He was their leader after all, so being the stubborn and uptight numskull that he was, probably wasn't going to change anytime soon.
"Don't lie Turkey-boy." Cid said as he watched Tseng with an amused expression, hearing his reply about the Turk always being serious. That wasn't true at all, for Cid had witnessed himself here and now, that the Turk could also be scared, worried and frightened. "Being scared of not being able to find your precious President, isn't being serious, is it?" The pilot commented with another amused look spreading across his face. Yet Cid turned away and was unable to see any facial expressions coming his way from the Turk that may have been aimed at him. Instead, he walked off through the entrance to Agrabah off towards it's outskirts were a few palm trees were dotted about with some other shrubs and a small well for gathering water. Beyond the shrubs and tree though, was endless desert in every direction. The sheer heat of the desert could be visibly seen, with the heat waves dancing across the horizon. The pilot stopped under the shade of one of the palm trees and turned to see if Tseng was still with him.
"Bein' the leader of the Turks, I suspect that ya have access to high security stores and the like. There is bound to be a contact ya have in Midgar or Edge that supplies ya with Materia. If I take you to Edge first, you'll get me the Time materia, or i'll send you off to a distance, desolate world and leave you there to rot, worryin' about your precious Rufus." Cid explained, his tone becoming more serious and threatening the further through the sentence he got. After a short pause and giving the Turk a stern glare, the blond-haired dragoon waited for a reply. Cid had just offered to take the Turk to Edge for the Materia. Surely that would be enough to tip the tides slightly. Though the matter of the fact remained. Tseng wasn't going to get anywhere near Cloud until the pilot had gotten his materia. Some of these worlds were a dangerous place, and having the necessary protection and equipment was vital.

The nickname was strange to hear from Cid, but it was effective to draw his attention. That's when Cid began to nit-pick and harass him. But Tseng was going to seem unphased by it all. "I am not afraid. It's called worry. You would be if someone from Avalanche was in the same situation...." Tseng left it unfinished and watched as Cid continued walking again.
Now, the pilot was standing a few yards away. Tseng noticed Cid's expression was one that the Turk was supposed to follow. So Tseng took a few steps forward before Cid spoke again. It seemed this was the final deal.
Yes, Tseng had links to materia dealers. He was a Turk and it was simple to get ahold of. Yet, no one else could get the hunks of mako as easily. The only group that could, other then ShinRa, was the WRO. But that was a given.
"There would be a hole in your plan. I could easily agree, get you into the ShinRa building and you could easily be detained and I wouldn't have to worry about waking up in a strange land." Tseng was slightly amused by this. Though, he was leery about hooking Cid up with materia. He was part of Avalanche. But it wasn't anything too special and it was needed to save Rufus. So, it was obvious that Tseng was not being serious about the idea.
"But, as much as I detest the idea. You have yourself a deal. I'll get you a Time materia for your assistance to meet Cloud in Radiant Garden." Tseng watched to see Cid's response. This would be the end of negotiations.

The shade of which the palm tree cast down upon the dragoon, wasn't really that effective at keeping the heat away, for the air was thick with the heat at it was. Still, at least Cid wouldn't get a sunburn now, but even he was starting to get slightly irritated by the warmth of this world. Cid didn't mind the heat back on Gaia such as at Costa Del Sol, but this place was in the middle of the desert! It was even worse then being trapped in the Corel Prison under the Golden Saucer. Cid paused for a moment, wondering though if he had already thought that... it must be the heat getting to him. He'd probably end up seeing mirages next and the thought of that bothered him slightly. Being surrounded by five Tseng's was going to be too much for the poor scruffy Dragoon to handle. The nasty mental image forced Cid to rub at his eyes slightly, before glancing back the Turk's way as he heard him speak.
"Me? Worry over an Avalanche member? Don't be stupid. Unlike your silly President, every member of Avalanche know how to fight and take care of themselves. Hell, even Tifa escaped from the gas chamber all on her own without help. I'd like to see Rufus do that!" Cid said with narrowed eyes. The pilot probably would end up worrying it Cloud was in trouble and had both his arms chopped off to stop him using his Buster Sword, but other then that, he knew the numskulls in Avalanche were a tough bunch. He did care a lot about them all though, yet he'd never say he did. His friendship and loyalty to the other members were enough to show that he was one of them and that they were a team. Though that got the blond-haired man thinking. Where were they all now? The Dragoon had bumped into Tifa and Cloud in Radiant Garden, but the others? Only Gaia knew that. Cid sighed slightly, but managed to keep it under his breath as not to reveal his own worry the Turk.
Cid however turned fully in Tseng's direction and folded his arms across his chest. He tilted his head and gave the Turk an amused look. "Yeah I guess you always could do that, then all I'd have to do it activate my teleportation device to return myself instantly to the Shera and then let rip a barrages of missiles down onto the Shin-Ra building. Who'd be laughin' then?!" Cid said with a confident smirk, though he lied about the teleportation part. He'd yet to figure out how those mysterious auras worked found dotted throughout the worlds, which allowed a person to be transported back to their Gummi Ship in an instant. There was once of these strange devices inside Merlin's house and the dragoon had been working endlessly to try and discover it's origins. However Tseng knew of Cid's engineering and mechanical abilities, so perhaps he'd fall for the lie. The part about the missiles however, wasn't a lie. The Shera was equipped with several precise missile bays, capable of launching up to 20 missiles in a few seconds. All with the push of a button.
"But since ya were lying again, I'll not blow up the Shin-Ra buildin' either. And so we have a deal! Wanna shake?" Cid said, offering his hand out to the Turk before instantly retracting it again and folding his arm back across his chest. "I don't." The blond-haired dragoon said as he turned his back on the Turk and walked through the shrubs out into the endless desert. The sand beneath his feet shifted with each step he took and eventually, the Captain stopped and turned around to stare at the Turk. "Ya honestly expect me to call the Shera down here, right where all these residents will see and hear it?!"

It was obvious Cid lied. He would care and it was obvious in his body language. With a light smirk hidden by a turn of the head, he was highly amused. "Mmm, no worry at all. I believe that like I would believe Reno telling me he did his paperwork." Reno never did his paperwork but Rude would always handle it for the redhead. If Reno ever said he did it, Tseng wouldn't believe it. Even if Reno wrote the report in front of Tseng.
However, the two people Tseng worried about were Elena and Rufus. Elena was a strong and independent Turk, but she was still alone and not too capable of adapting. Rufus was trapped somewhere with Kadaj. The both were in trouble. Rude and Reno handled themselves all the time, so they would both be more then alright.
When Cid mentioned the teleportation, Tseng was sure that the closest thing he had to a teleporter was an Exit materia. But there was no knowing where in the ShinRa building he'd end up. The only other reason Tseng disproved that comment was because Cid would have probably just teleported up to his ship now instead of walking. Tseng remained silent about this and simply nodded in reply.
When it came to shaking hands, Tseng didn't move his arm. It would be formal, but it was not something Tseng did was an enemy. True, they were on the same side currently. But the Director was not going to make the deal so formal. It was simply an exchange of services.
As they were walking Cid stopped and turned around. The rant about calling down the Shera was extremely random and caused Tseng to stop. "I didn't say anything about the Shera."
