The doors to the large open ballroom slowly creaked open, the once darkened room gaining a long streak of light across the floor from the candles burning away within the entrance hall. The echo of the creaking door continuing to bounce around the grand room several times before dying down, returning the castle to silence once more. A shrill howling of the wind was echoing outside the massive windows at the far end, the glass rattling within their frames slightly from the force of the cold breeze outside. Other then that, the castle was deathly quiet. The roars of the supposed 'beast' were no longer present, unlike the first time a certain silver-haired youth arrived in this world to help assist a young boy by the name of Emil. Such fond memories. But alas, no beast roars obviously meant there was no beast. And since this castle no longer had a supposed 'owner' and with thanks to the Human Heartless gathering the attention of the Heroes of Light, Kadaj, Leader of the Remnant's was left unchecked and free to do what he pleased. And, what else was better then finding a new base of operations for the Remnant Brothers?
Sure, the Forgotten City was an ideal place. Remote. Quiet. Undisturbed. But a nice big castle? The choice was obvious. However, the world stunk of the Light so there were more pressing issues to attend to. Defeating the Light and claiming this world for the Darkness. For the Remnants! Kadaj had many plans he needed to carry out and doing so in a world full of Darkness would only further his progress. The Light needed to be exterminated and ways to do so were at hand, they just needed some extra fine tweaking before being put into action. A nice large castle with some peace and quiet as well as an abundance of Heartless, would work wonders as well. For now though, it was just a simple matter of waiting for the Light to come and preach to him about his wrong doings.
The silhouette of a slender young man came into view as the figure stepped into the light that was shining into the large ballroom. The silver-haired youth glanced down at the floor and smirked at the sight of his long shadow stretching long across the ground below him. Suddenly the ballroom was lit up magnificently as bolt of lightning crashed down from the heavens above, a loud rumble echoing throughout the entire castle which in turn caused the windows to rattle slightly. The Remnant Leader smirked as he strode into the ballroom. Two balconies either side of the main entrance housed several, perhaps thousands of books. Those would make good advantage points and the wide open area at the far end of the grand room would be suitable for close combat. This room was far more adequate then fighting within the entrance hall back through he door he just stepped through. A subtle nod of the Remnants head and he continued to walk through the room, glancing up to see the large unlit chandelier hanging overhead.
A subtle grin appeared on his lips, made barely visible by another bright and sudden flash of lightning shining in through the massive windows. Lifting up his left arm, the leather covering his attire creaking when it started to tighten around his figure, a green glow began to shine out from within the Remnant's forearm, a piece of Materia being activated. The ballroom was suddenly lit up a fiery orange as a large ball of flame formed itself within the Remnant's hand, a Firaga spell the sole reason behind the change in colour as well as why Kadaj's hair and attire began to whip out behind him from the winds coming from the swirling mass of fire. A quick swing of his arm and the Firaga shot up towards the ceiling, circling around the chandelier before zipping off towards a second hanging from the ceiling closer to the entrance door. After the majority of the candles had been lit, giving a much needed sense of light to the room, the Firaga spell changed course and headed right for the Remnant himself, who merely raised an arm and swatted the Firaga spell away into nothingness when it drew near. Narrowing his eyes and turning to face the large door which was still open and the only entrance to and from this room (bar smashing the windows), Kadaj waited to see who would be foolish to venture here and oppose him.

A large storm had seemed to gather outside across the French countryside, it's peak raging over the this cursed castle within the Forbidden Forest just outside the small village. Storm grey clouds remained that color until a streak of white hot lightning zipped overhead, illuminating the entire area and yet making the shadows grow even larger than they had once been. A cold, unforgiving wind assaulted the ground below when the lightning was not striking a random tree or the many tall turrets at the top of the tower, shaking cold glass within their delicate French windowframes. Not a soul was in sight on this eerie night, save for a few Heartless lurking within the black of silhouettes the lightning made, but not even they stayed long from their Corridors to Darkness. Wherever the occupants had gone, there was no-one left to stop outsiders from walking right into the castle, and it had seemed indeed that the very darkness this world always seemed steeped in would claim this hopeless world.
And yet, where there was darkness, there was light. Not only from the lightning above in the fulmulating storm, but exuding from a warrior that had come to explore this world. Travelling in darkness was not unfamiliar to this small boy... he had done so many times more than he could remember. Seemingly unphased as he walked straight into the entrance hall to venture through this grand castle, the legendary hero known as Onion Knight had his head bowed slightly as the large doors of the entrance of the castle slammed upruptly shut behind him from the force of the gale whipping outside. It was good to seek shelter from the storm, even if there had been no rain, the chilling breeze had caused goosebumps to make the fine hairs on his bare arms and legs stand up on end. But even that did not seem to shake the short knight from his thoughts, as he followed the path before him to the stairs, thinking about if he would ever find a familiar face or that of his crystal.
Memories were slowly coming back to him, like the very nipping wind outside, familiar but fleeting and uncomforting at the same time. Because he had been in a few of the cycles himself, he recalled some of his memories from his time in at least a few of them as a Warrior of the Goddess Cosmos, but not all of them. There had been two significant cycles which must have been very important to not just him, but to all his friends who were also summoned to fight on behalf of the goddess of harmony, but they were not the only cycles in which had turned the entire war overall around. Where were his friends now that their worlds were connected, or at least estranged ones such as this, and what cycle were they in if they were still continuing? He couldn't even remember if they had been put to an end or if discord was still raging, but had found hope he could see his friends again when he had come across Cloud a while back in a underworld. But since then he hadn't seen anyone he recognised, not even the enemies fighting on behalf of the god of discord... Cecil, Tidus, Firion, Squall, Bartz, Zidane, the Warrior of Light and most of all Terra Branford... where were they all, and why hadn't Cosmos appeared before him yet?
Within the dank depths of ink black before him, just as he considered exploring the six parlour doors to his left and right, there came a brief flash of fire illuminating which made him aware of the aura of a presence. Not just any old flame, but that of a fire spell similiar to his own... was there a battle going on? Luneth felt with his senses he had developed over the years, but only felt one aura, that of a terrible darkness. So if the enemy was setting the castle on fire, there was only one thing left to do, and the Onion Knight marched straight into the large double-doors into the ballroom as they, too, sealed loudly behind him with a sealing energy. The result of the fire spell revealing to be lit candleabras in the high domed roof above, illuminating a quaintly resembling youth with silver hair and black leather before him, the Keeper of the Light of Courge summoned his golden and azure Onion Sword with the grip of his right hand as he swished it out horizontally parallel to his shoulder.
"Feels like we have met somewhere before." he stated, not a question, realizing the aura was a lot like one back in the world of Radiant Garden.

((OOC: I knew you'd counter the raid Vince. You're the only one who ever does.)) Well wasn't this incredibly easy, as well as hugely unsatisfying. The Remnant Leader came to the castle expecting a big uproar seeing how it had only recently been returned to the hands of the Light after the end of Lich's reign and now the home of The Beast was under attack once more by the forces of Darkness and no one was showing up to stop him. Perhaps the war at Kingdom Hearts really did attract the attention of everyone, much as Kadaj had expected. The silver-haired youth was free to roam the lands and take whichever caught his interest the most. Seeing as how first Radiant Garden fell to his hand, it was perhaps time for he himself to earn a new stronghold. An amused smirk spread across his lips at the thought of seeing Cloud's face when he returned to Radiant Garden to see it all twisted and deformed much like the Remnant's own thought process. And since this Castle would soon be his as well, his experiments on creating a brand new generation of Heartless could begin!
The silver-haired Remnant continued to smirk, his face lit up with delight at acquiring a new home for he and his brothers. Turning his back to the main and only entrance to this huge room, Kadaj paced up to the large windows and raised his arms up over his head, about to clarify his victory when a large bright thunderbolt streaked across the sky and crashed into the ground somewhere within the Forbidden Forest. This action caused the Remnant to freeze, staring out at the blackened skies beyond the panes of glass merely to become confused and alert. That didn't seem right... while normally such an act would be common for a villain within a fairytale, that one lightning bolt felt as if it was opposing the Remnant... stopping him from claiming this easy victory. Kadaj whirled around instantly when the door leaving the ballroom slammed shut, the Remnant's bright turquoise eyes catching sight of some sort of magical seal covering the large double doors themselves as well as hearing the sound of a similar act upon the windows behind him.
Then there was the little boy wearing armour and wielding a matching coloured sword. Kadaj raised an eyebrow and tuned his senses to detect the power of the boys heart and was deeply disappointed to find out that it belonged to one of the Light. His leather bound arms slowly lowered themselves down to his sides as he pivoted his body around fully to end up facing the boy at the opposite end of the room. Was this is? This one boy had come to challenge him? To be honest, if anyone was going to show up, Kadaj was expecting someone... taller. Regardless, it seemed the world had made up it's mind and wasn't quite ready to submit to the Remnant. Leather boots echoed throughout the ballroom as Kadaj moved forwards, heading towards the center of this grand room before coming to a halt to give himself a better view of his opponent. No other presences seemed to be closing in so Kadaj assumed it was simply going to be an old fashion one-on-one match. Suits him just fine. But this boy... he could have sworn he'd seen him somewhere before... but where?
"You're late. I was starting to think there was no one left stupid enough to come challenge me... but it seems I was wrong." The boys comment blow straight over the Remnant's head. He was sure they'd never met personally, yet his face was still familiar to him. Perhaps the boy in armour was referring to Sephiroth or one of his brothers? However, it was then that Kadaj's eyes opened a fraction, recalling the time he last laid eyes on this boy. It was back in Twilight Town while the Remnant was stalking Kairi. This boy and Tifa showed up to accompany Kairi before two members of the Organization XIII, Lexaeus and Xigbar (I think it was Xig... might have been Saïx) arrived to confront him. Sure, that couldn't be classed as a formal greeting, but nevertheless, Kadaj now recognized this boys face. After looking him up and down a couple of times to size him up, trying to 'feel' what type of fighter this lad might be, Kadaj was getting mixed information. The only sure way to find out would simply be to fight him. "You sure you should be here boy? Aren't you a little young to be playing with swords?" Kadaj asked as he raised his left arm up slightly before reaching back to take a firm grip of his Souba's handle, not yet drawing the twin-bladed katana. "Don't expect me to go easy just because you're a kid. This castle will belong to the Darkness this day." -=Cooldowns=- Firaga - 1 Post.

(OOC: Only to give you a fight worth winning this castle for, and because no-one else did. Someone's gotta come save the day and initiate the battle at the last minute. [; )
Yeah, the guy standing before him now did look familiar somehow... but he couldn't quite place it. His armor shifted as he held out his sword alongside him, staring down the user of dark, who looked ready or even victorious in taking over his castle. Well, another enemy trying to usurp a castle... it wasn't like he hadn't dealt with that before. All the time on Surface World Xande had sent out villain after villain to curse or force a keep or village into submission, but he and his fellow Warriors of Light had taken down those flunkies every single time. And he was sure if he defeated this soldier and lifted the apparent darkness looming around the castle, whoever owned it would be grateful to him. But there was a powerful aura around this silver-haired male... he wasn't so sure what he was capable of, but he wouldn't have approached him if he didn't think he would beat him.
The other youth let out a indirect insult about how stupid it was to come to challenge him, but the Onion Knight was not only smart enough to understand it, but come up with a clever comeback as the warrior fell silent. "Yeah, it does seem brainless for anyone to come to challenge you when you're so obviously strong." his voice dripped with fake reverence and sarcasm, smirking slightly. "But in your case, for a poor sap like you, I was willing to make an exception." The tension built as silence was cast between the two, the candlelight in the chandeliers above flickering the light acrosss the room below, making the shadows waver in turn. Another condescending remark came his way, this time about his age, and the knight couldn't help but chuckle slightly. The man hadn't stopped talking yet, so he let him finish, watching as he placed his hand on his sword in his sheath before listening for his turn to speak.
He started to pace across the room slowly, head bowed, his head bowed and chin tucked as his tone came across feigning innocence and pleading. [color=Gold}"Oh no, I am just a kid! You wouldn't attack a boy. would you? Please spare me, oh mighty and powerful one!" [/color] he ridiculed in a voice a touch higher than his regular one, before shaking his feather-helmed head and chuckling out loud with a 'heh.' While he scoffed, his sandal feet still pacing across the room, about half-way towards the Remnant now. "Oh, please, and you think I'm stupid? I didn't think you'd be such a lunkhead." His eyes didn't look up to meet his opponent until he had come in range, looking up to lock emerald eyes on his foe, and suddenly leapt forward at rapid speed to attempt to swipe several times at the male with Multi Hit. He stood his ground after he had advanced forward to engage his opponent, a cheerful grin plastered on his lips. "Hey, don't get me wrong, I won't fight an opponent I can't beat." he added boldly, leaping forward to attack at faster than normal speed, this time with more momentum at his opponent with his Blade Torrent ability. He swung around his opponent, landing somewhere in the middle of the floor of the ballroom, body swaying from side to side as he went into an offensive stance. "...But being a kid that has it's advantages. I don't expect pity from the enemy until it's too late for them, so don't start laying out the frilly interior decorations for discord just yet." he arrogantly chided. And then he was off again with the instantaneous agility that allowed him to strike the first move in this battle, along with his witty acting, strafing around the man in dark leather towards the arch pilars holding up the balcony on his left-side of the room. --- Multi-Hit: Two-post cooldown. A smirk appeared upon the lips of the Remnant Leader as he tilted his head a fraction, listening to the reply sent his way from the boy in colourful armour. Who was this brat? Actually it didn't really matter to the Remnant. He was sure no one would care if this boy suddenly disappeared from the face of these worlds. Maybe he should use this lad in his experiments? Pump him full of Geostigma or infect him with some JENOVA Cells? Either way the results would certainly be an improvement regardless. "Stupid and immature it would seem. I see I'm always the one who had to deal with the trash. I wonder why no REAL heroes of the Light are brave enough to challenge me? Oh yeah, because I've already beaten most of them." Kadaj said with a shrug of his shoulders, submitting to the fact that he had to deal with yet more scum. If it wasn't the Turks or one of those stupid Keybarers, then it was some brat like this.
Bright turquoise eyes watched as the boy in colourful armour made his way towards him, a dark smirk still spread across Kadaj's face as he listened to more words leaving the boys mouth. Seriously. Did this boy even know what he was getting himself into? Just because he had a suit of armour and a sword, did that make him think he could take on the world? "Stupid, immature and arrogant. A recipe for disaster. Wonderful! I can smell it now!" Kadaj said, shaking his head from side to side in disappointment. Already he could tell that this match was going to be a boring one. From simply observing him walk forwards, the silver-haired Remnant could tell that he was an agile fighter over a strength based one, which was all good in Kadaj's books, seeing as he too was an agile fighter. A fact he was willing to prove when the armoured boy jumped in to attack.
The singing of Kadaj's Souba reached his ears as his eyes locked onto the boy before him, his left arm pulling his twin-bladed katana around himself to make contact with the Knight's weapon. Several metallic impacts echoed throughout the ballroom as the silver-haired Remnant matched the young boys speed, knocking away each sword strike that came his way. Keeping his heels pushed into the floor though, Kadaj didn't move backwards an inch and once the Knight had finished, the Remnant flipped his Souba around into a reverse hand grip and held the blade behind his back. "Not bad. Not good either, but not bad." The Remnant Leader said with a grin as he waved his right arm before himself, signaling the Knight boy to continue if he so desired. If this match was going to be boring, Kadaj decided he might as well try to make it entertaining. Yet he raised an eyebrow in curiosity to the boys next comment, mentioned he wouldn't fight someone he couldn't beat. Was that so? Well, give credit where credit is due, but the Remnant Leader had yet to be impressed.
Kadaj's mako fused eyes watched with mild entertainment as his opponent made another attack towards him, seemingly attempting to attack head on. Being the overconfident Remnant that he was, Kadaj just stood his ground and decided to allow the boy to land his attack. There was no better way to test someone of their strength then to take one of their strikes, and that was exactly what happened. Honestly this boy was a lot faster then Kadaj first anticipated, but his strength wasn't much to admire. The boy's attack felt like several pin pricks all across his body before the final blow actually had a bit of 'oomph' in it, for it threw the Remnant easily from where he stood, hurtling him through the ballroom towards the massive glass windows at the far end. Catching his balance before impact however, Kadaj flipped himself the right way up and landed back upon the floor with a graceful 'thud'. Turquoise eyes glancing down to view his attire, he seemed amused at all the small knife-like holes within his leather clothing, several small cuts and slices shown as well. "Yeah, not bad."
Kadaj's leather attire suddenly liquefied and sealed up all the damage caused, returning itself back to a state where it appeared brand new. Lifting his right arm to dust himself off slightly, he looked up to see the armoured boy dashing off towards the pillars on one side of the room which held up the floor above him. With his usual grin spread across his face, Kadaj started to walk forwards a few paces towards his opponent, watching him carefully, trying to plan the route. Within an instant though, the silver-haired youth had vanished into a cloud of black feathers, reappearing nigh-instantly right beside the Knight from an identical feather cluster. As he revealed himself, the first thing to actually leave the feathers near the Onion Knight was the Remnant's Souba, swinging in a swift strike towards the boy's torso in an attempt to whack him into one of the nearby pillars. From there, Kadaj took a short hop backwards in case his strike was dodged or parried where he then returned his Souba to a reverse hand grip and moved it back behind himself once more, curious to see what the boy would do next.

Another flash of lightning streaked across the darkened sky outside, casting the light astray and highlighting the shadows of the archways and glass of the immense ballroom in which the battle had started. His Multi-Hit had been guarded against, but the enemy actually lowered their guard on purpose and let the attack hit. The legendary Onion Knight was true to his name, as he landed his direct hit, he sped around the user of darkness at a immense speed faster than the average eye could keep up with, slashing at him from all angles around him until he landed the final blow and pushed him back. Ironically the same as his friend Cloud did in a similar manner to this person's predecessor, Sephiroth, with Omnislash Version Five many years ago. But that was not something the Keeper of the Light of Courage would know, or even be told by Cloud with his travels with him.
More retorts came as the antagonist recovered, and Luneth as the annoying little kid he was couldn't help but laugh inwardly to himself at the judging and the contradiction he heard. "Sorry, but no-one died and made you king. Who are you to judge me?" A grimace sported over Onion Knight's face as he kept running for the pillars on his left-hand side of the room. "Sounds like you're speaking for yourself... literally. There's always a first time for everything, but either people are too stupid or not brave enough to face you... you really don't think too much, do you?" he remarked. How'd this guy expect to take over a castle if he couldn't even be definite about making up his mind? His answer was short-lived as a flurry of black feathers appeared before him from out of nowhere.
Ebon feathery down fluttered upon the still air of the ballroom, accompanying partners in this dance to the death, the boy inconspicuously known as Luneth watching as the silver-haired male appeared from the whirlwind. Clever trick... it reminds me of someone, but who? he considered, at the same time digging his sandals into the sandy titled floor, reacting the only way he knew how to a new attack by gut feeling. He lifted up his golden Onion Sword to parry the incoming blade, either successfully blocking it, or being punished for his guard being crushed if it was a powerful blow. Thankfully it was the former, and the two blades clashed and ricocheted off each other, Onion Knight staring down the other youth jubilantly. "Hmph, not bad yourself. Could be better, though." he smirked, and with the momentum pushed his blade forward to push the man away from him, so he could continue gaining the higher ground.
Having blocked the strange two-pronged sword of his dark foe, Onion Knight recovered quickly to counter-attack as he spun his sword around in his hand and with a singular thrust of it coming out of the spin, frost magic formed into the shape of a bullet and flew towards the leather-clad warrior in the form of Blizzard. He ran up the pillar in a vertical wall-walk, and jumped over the railing to the higher balcony, which made up most of half the room above the entrance. It would have looked rather amateurish if he had gotten hit with that simple sword-strike, and he was going to let the warrior of chaos learn that Luneth would speak of his strength through action and make him pay for every second he continued to under-estimate him. Likely the simple spell was a distraction easily countered that would not connect, and so the main attack while he finished dealing with the Frost came in the form of a arching giant fireball known as Firaga hurling down to detonate on the spot the Remnant stood last.
"Singe!" he called the instant after he had cast the spell, so the verbal uttering to summon the old magic would be too late to give warning of the incoming spell, himself thrown backwards into the balcony wall from the sheer force of the blazing projectile lighting up the room.

A crackle of lightning crashed down outside the Castle, the bolt of light smashing into one of the few lightning rods attached upon the roof of one of the castle spires, sent subtle vibrations down through each and every floor until it reached the ballroom, the clap of thunder rattling the old window frames once again as the bright flash from the darkened skies lit up the entire area for a brief millisecond. The rumble of thunder was joined with the duet of steel hitting steel, the silver-haired youth's sneak attack from the cluster of feathers falling short of it's intended target by only a small fraction. Pity really, this armoured boy was certainly faster then he looked and the Remnant took a second to ask himself why he didn't put more strength into the attack. The boy was fast, so it would be smart to try and break his guard in order to force him off balance. Next time, he thought.
With his bright turquoise eyes locked onto Luneth, Kadaj grinned as he felt the boy push him away with his sword, before twirling the colourful weapon around his hand. A sudden chill reached the face of the Remnant as he noticed an icy bullet forming itself before the young knight. Having had bad experiences with an ice attack from Sora back in Disney Castle, Kadaj's grin sudden vanished and was replaced with a more serious expression. When Luneth cast the spell his way and proceeded to make haste to higher ground, Kadaj quickly swung his Souba out from behind his back and smashed the twin bladed weapon hard into the ice bullet, reflecting it back towards the caster but missing and instead hitting the pillar itself, which only resulted in part of the stone column becoming frozen solid. With a tightened brow, Kadaj merely glared as this reminded him of the battle back for Disney Castle. That would never happen again!
"Hey, where are you going? Come back and play! You can't fight me up there!" Kadaj's expression instantly changed back to a grin and his tone lightning up again as if he were a child playing a game with his brothers. Watching as Luneth vanished up the pillar, Kadaj took a couple of steps forwards before running his right hand down the flat of his Souba, wiping off some of the ice that had stuck to the blades from the deflection. Glancing up from his unique weapon, Kadaj's eyes caught sight of a huge ball of flame plummeting towards him. Where the heck did THAT come from?! Flexing his knees and digging into his Darkness to awaken his agility, Kadaj launched himself forwards just as the Firaga exploded behind him, the blast throwing the Remnant Leader through the air under the raised floor upon which Luneth stood. Flipping his slender body in a forward somersault, Kadaj's leather boots skidded across the hard ballroom floor until he came to a stop. Taking a moment to look himself over to see if anything was set on fire, the silver-haired youth quickly raised his head towards the ceiling overhead after discovering he were able to avoid any serious damage from the flame attack. The lower half of his pants were singed slightly but no damage was caused to his person.
Wondering if he were standing below the young knight, Kadaj smirked as he decided it would be best to fight fire with fire. Throwing his right arm up into the air above his head, three large bright patches appeared around the Remnant Leader in a triangle formation, before they exploded into gigantic Flame Pillars. Bursting up from the ground, scoring their way through the ceiling overhead to leave three nice big holes, the flame pillars themselves continued skywards hoping that their rotation would be strong enough to drag the young knight into the swirling inferno and see how he enjoying some heat. After about five seconds, the Remnant lowered his hand and the pillars vanished, their bright fiery glow reducing the ballroom back to it's former illumination. Head still looking towards the ceiling, taking note of the three new holes in the ceiling/floor, Kadaj flexed his knees and powerful his strength into a jump, leaping up through one of the holes to land on the floor above. As soon as his slightly burnt leather boots hit solid ground, Kadaj raised his Souba up before his torso in defense before his bright eyes inspected the damage caused on the second floor and to see what had become of the knight.

You would think with all the lightning striking the castle and the surrounding area, that the tumultuous storm would eventually rip the entire castle apart. The room seemed to flash white and black as the tormentous lightning flashed in arcs across the blackened sky outside, it’s only predecessor the roar of thunder as loud as the echo of an unknown beast within the depths of the castle. The castle itself seemed to shake alongside the thrusts of wind against the tempered paneled glass, as if all hell had broken loose outside and threatening to shatter the very windows itself, if it wasn’t already hell breaking loose inside. Already the temperature in the room had drastically risen after the drop of the Blizzard spell, which the legendary Onion Knight had been right to assume had been quickly deflected. The ice frozen around the pillar now melting to water, he watched as the Firaga ball exploded into a large radius below, unfortunately missing it’s intended target.
The man in black had flipped away forwards towards his position on the horseshoe-shaped balcony ringing half of the ballroom’s wall above, and he couldn’t see him or what he was up to. This couldn’t be good, but he was confident the kid couldn’t reach him until he was up on his level, which he was probably trying to figure out how to get up to. This meant he could have mimicked his ascent or more likely, was about to teleport next to him again, so he had to keep moving. He was about to sprint around the balcony to the opposite side of the room so he could see the Remnant and possibly figure out his next action, but felt his intimidating dark aura still underneath his person, followed by an intense heat. Three columns of blazing fire burst through the platform beneath his feet, and instantaneously he felt himself be lifted up by hot air and lashing flames, seering heated pain into his skin and clothing before he was swatted into the ceiling amongst the cherub fresco painting painted there.
A kid amongst child-like angels. How ironic.
A small yelp of pain exhaled from his lips, the impact from where the force of the blast had cracked part of the ceiling, and more of it could be seen as the kid dropped from the ceiling. Controlling his fall and having suffered worse before, his skin and clothes covered in black charcoal smudges, he watched as the caster of the immense fire spell jumped up through the holes in the platform and landed on the balcony beneath him. A little worse for wear, but he could use the higher ground to his advantage. As he dropped, he instantaneously landed on the circular chandelier Kadaj had lit with his Firaga spell earlier, and grabbed the chain that it hung from the ceiling with in his right hand. Luneth noticed the moment his weight was placed on the unsafe platform, the chain holding it high near the ceiling started to give some slack from the crank reel nearby holding it up, making him drop quickly earthward. Riding on pure adrenaline and with some rapid thinking, as he had meant to use the chandelier as a stepping stone to launch from, he instead adjusted the position of his feet and the balance of his weight to swing it around harshly into the leather-clad enemy on the platform below.
But that was not all. Not allowing for time to witness if the chandelier had knocked into the adolescent and shoved him away with as much force as he had just received, he jumped off and flipped away to evade any counterattack that might have been waiting in retaliation. In mid-air, he swatted his Onion Sword downward as three orbs of lightning fanned forwards and downwards, in unison with the crack of thunderbolts outside. Thunder thrummed through the air and tracked after Kadaj, as Onion Knight landed gracefully on the platform facing him. ”Oh, I can play with you up here. I’m just heating things up!” he replied to the earlier taunt, watching the chandelier swing around in a circular pattern low around the floor as it had for Sora many years before when fighting the Dark Thorn Heartless.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay. Busy, busy, busy~ @_@)) A subtle squeak reached the ears of the silver-haired youth as his durable yet now cripsy leather boots skidded a fraction upon the smooth hard floor below, landing with eerie grace after leaping up from the main floor up to where the young Knight was once stood. Bright turquoise eyes stared up towards the ceiling to catch sight of the colourful young man peeling away from the intricate painting high above. Pieces of old building and rubble crumbled from the impact zone where Luneth had hit the ceiling after being propelled skywards from the Flame Pillars. His grin still spread across his face, Kadaj kept his head skywards as his eyes remained locked onto Luneth, watching as he fell down and landed upon one of the chandeliers. It looked like a bad move to make, since the aged yet still elaborate lightning display creaked and fell loose from it's fixings. Only the long chain attached to the base of the chandelier itself was the only thing stopping the boy and his temporary makeshift transportation from smashing headlong into the floor. Then again, the chain seemed to have too much slack and the falling chandelier was on a crash course with the floor.
Taking a couple of steps towards the banister surrounding the edge of the raise 'U' shaped platform, Kadaj peered over the edge so he could watch the armoured boy get splattered across the floor, however his opponent seemed to have other ideas and in a matter of seconds, the large old chandelier was now on a crash course with the Remnant himself. The silver-haired youth's eyes widened at the sudden change in pace and he had to act quickly. Being next to the banister was a good enough place to start. Quickly, the Remnant hopped up into the edge and focused his strength back into his legs, jumping swiftly high up into the air just as the chandelier crashed right where he was standing. Sailing high up into the air within the ballroom, Kadaj tucked himself into a ball as he flipped in somersaults several times, the flickering of the candles shining off his Souba as he span multiple times as if he had suddenly changed into a human-sized circular saw.
After reaching the peak of his jump and begun his decent back to the ground, Kadaj opened himself up and landed upon top of the banister on the opposite side of the 'U' shaped platform. Standing straight, he turned around slowly to reveal several small cuts and slices across part of his face as well as down the leather attire of his right arm. Seems he timed his jump a fraction too late and was caught by flying debris as he evading the chandelier itself. Still, the more attacks he took, the greater the punishment this armoured boy would receive in return. Glancing back towards the chandelier, the Remnant noticed it had fell from where it crashed on the opposite side of the room and was now loosely swinging back and forth near the middle of the ballroom. That might come in handy later. Returning his attention back to Luneth, Kadaj noticed that the boy was still in mid-air and had launched a lightning based attack in his direction before tumbling down to the ground and landing not too far away from where the Remnant last stood. "That was pretty clever, using the chandelier as a weapon. Impressive. Keep it up! It's fun to trying to guess what you might do next!"
It was clear from his tone that the Remnant was starting to enjoy this match. Perhaps the kid might actually have what it took to take the silver-haired youth past the 'warmed up' stage of a battle. Kadaj's grin was still visible as he span his Souba around within his hand, the twin-blades singing in unity with one another, indicating their sharpness. Waiting for the Thunder spell to draw closer, Kadaj's grin turned to a smirk as he readied himself, his eyes flicking back and forth between the spell and the knight himself, keeping an eye on his position. Oddly though, the Thunder spell crackled down upon the Remnant but whatever effect that should of happened... didn't. The spell seemed to have passed straight through the Remnant as if he wasn't really there. Kadaj's After Image cockily raised up his right arm and wagged his index fingers towards Luneth, 'tutting' a few times before disappearing into thin air. At the same moment, the real Kadaj suddenly appeared from out of thin air a short distance right behind Luneth, no feathers or bright lights this time to give away his position. That was until the silver-haired Remnant had charged up his Souba with a subtle blue aura, the hum of energy coming from behind the armoured knight. Not having enough time to charge up the attack to full strength, Kadaj took a step forth and unleashed an ordinary but still highly dangerous Draw Slash towards the Onion Knight.

(OOC: No worries, I'm busy with things myself.)
Any sounds softer than the actual battle itself were dwarfed by the massive crash of thunder peeling outside, striking one of the taller towers of the castle, but it was not felt nor seen in actual damage in the interior of the castle itself. The storm was barely noticeable as background noise to the Onion Knight as he focused on the intensity of the battle, always planning ahead what to do next after reading his opponent's movements. The chandelier had been a good idea to use the momentum of his fall to strike back, his white and gold cape trailing behind him as he fell with the candelabra, but the other youth had seen it coming in time and miraculously dodged it. He watched momentarily as he flipped through the air, and himself leaping behind him as the chandlier hit empty balcony and slid to the floor. Making sure the spinning somersalt that turned his opponent into a whirling blade wasn't an attack in itself, he waited until the right moment before stretching his arm back, and casting the three blue thunderballs that would bend and track the target once it became stationary.
He watched with anticipation as the Thunder spell drew closer, hearing as the silver-head male called out in glee at the creativity of the knight's attack. So he was enjoying this? This wasn't some game, nor some warm-up practice match, and the Onion Knight felt the resolve to be even more agile and deadly in his attacks to show his seriousness in his actions. He was here to stop this castle from falling into the hands of malice, but his words could be the dry humor though, to distract his opponent more than his foe was trying to distract him now. He would have said something cocky in return, but savored it as the Thunder spell closed in on the enemy just as he touched ground on the adjacent side of the 'U' -shaped balcony, and crouched while bending one of his knees into a kneeling position to absorb the recoil gravity slapped upon him.
For a moment though, he felt that the man in black's aura had suddenly relocated closer to him, but the his image was still on the other end of the balcony. For a moment, the boy who's alias was otherwise known as Luneth had to guess that the youth had teleported again, but this was slightly disproven as his connecting spell passed through it's intended target. In a split second later as he turned his head away from the fake Remnant waving a 'tsk-tsk' gesture at him which went entirely ignored, running on pure adrenline, spotting the re-emerging young man appear in his original starting point when he came up through one of the three 'bowling ball' holes his fire spell had made in the platform. Good thing he had remembered they were there, too, as an instant new spell came towards him in the form of a dark pair of parallel energy waves projected off the twin blades of his adversary, in a horizontal fashion. A clever trick... if Onion Knight hadn't been able to read auras, and relied on his vision more than anything else, he would have been in big trouble.
As the twin cresent-shaped slices of energy sailed through the air towards him, he remembered what he had said to the Darkness user earlier, about being a kid having it's advantages. Pushing off from his crouching position, the young adolescent broke into a sprint for no more than a second, to get his momentum going towards the attack. Once he had momentum, he went into a baseball slide down into one of the holes that had been created from Stigma, the sneak attack sailing safely over his head. But he was not finished there, as he grabbed hold of the edge and swung himself underneath, vaulting out another one of the holes all in a down-up motion very similar to his speed dodging the Cloud of Darkness's attack in the only battle between all the Warriors of Cosmos and Chaos. Launching out of the hole, he sailed towards Kadaj with Turbo Hit, testing the mini-Sephiroth as he flipped up-side down an assailed with a string of blows. "Pretty clever trick yourself. I was almost starting to get bored!" he finally retorted his saved line from before, and watching his enemy's movement, pushed on the Onion Blade to send the mysterious figure veering backwards as he began to spin around in mid-air to perform a target-tracking Comet.
He could have cast it under the platform like Kadaj had to surprise him... but he wasn't going to stoop to his destructive level. When he won this castle back, it's residents would want it back in one piece. He didn't know if he could say the same for himself, however, but he had avoided that nasty razor-looking energy projectile. He had used the destruction against the Remnant this time, and it had been enough to utilize his agility and shortness to evade damage this time around. He might want to prove he wasn't a kid who was going down in some 'warm-up' match to himself, but next time he might not be so lucky.

The Draw Slash was a formidable attack, capable of easily destroying a person's guard and still dealing heavy damage with the 'piercing effect' that the attack carried. An undefended blow would deal close to fatal if not deadly damage. Kadaj took pride in this skill and it had defeated many an opponent in his past adventures in the worlds of Kingdom Hearts. Yet there were some who were able to dodge it and avoid damage altogether. Vincent Valentine had done so once before as did Sora in the fight for Disney Castle, though that was after he took one before hand and now this Luneth kid. The silver-haired Remnant made a mental note to practice this skill some more in the future, try and develop a way to make avoiding it even harder. Perhaps increase the travel speed of the energy slice. Maybe launch two smaller Draw Slashes from each blade of the Souba rather then one? Either way, the boy in the armour had managed to escape the attack, by sprinting off to one side and disappearing down a hole made by the Remnant's Flame Pillar earlier on.
Clever idea there, yet Kadaj did kick himself for leaving the route open. An error he didn't plan to make again. However, instead of having to jump off over the edge of the banister to fall to the ground floor and fight the knight boy down there, the kid seemed to zip back up one of the other two blast holes from Flame Pillar and hopped back up to the same level, ready to continue the match up here. Fine by the Remnant. Dispite the flashes of lightning coming in from the dark stormy skies outside, Kadaj's eyes stayed locked onto the armoured boy before him. Rain kept pouring down outside and the rumbles of thunder continues to shake the castle and rattle the windows. None did anything to distract the Remnant from his prey. With a careful eye on Luneth, Kadaj watched the boy draw near but his feet remained rooted to the spot. He wasn't going to run from this boy. Instead, he merely raised his Souba up to eye level and held the blade before himself horizontally, protecting his face alone from the many incoming strikes.
Much like how he acted towards the Multi Hit, Kadaj took several of the blows, moving his Souba only to block away any strikes aimed for his head. When the final strike came for him however, the silver-haired Remnant quickly shifted his weight and threw his body backwards, retreating back a short distance to avoid being blown away by the last hit like what happened with Multi Hit. Coming to a halt, Kadaj lowered his Souba and smirked as his leather attire once more seemed to come alive and sealed up all the damage caused from the boys last attack. Kadaj simply continued to smirk and shook his head from side to side a fraction, his bright turquoise eyes not leaving his target for even a half second. There were wounds and obvious damage caused to the silver-haired youth, but it didn't seem to be showing at all in his actions nor from the grin spread across his face. "I'm glad I'm not boring you, but you better start fighting more seriously. If that is honestly all you got, then you don't have a chance of winning this fight."
Kadaj could feel his strength growing. The damage taken from the Multi and Turbo hits adding to his inner abilities, his Darkness growing in power and his potential filling up. it wouldn't be too long now until the Geostigma would be ready, and then this boy would have fought his last battle. However, it wasn't ready yet. Taking one more attack should do the trick and from the looks of things, this little knight was about to do just that. Kadaj just continued to smirk, however he was quickly starting to grow tired of this match. His opponent was fast sure, but his strength was pathetic. Kadaj was the spawn of Sephiroth himself, the greatest SOLDIER to ever live. If this knight truly expected to win this match, he had better starting giving 110% from now on. Jumping backwards again to give himself a little more thinking time, Kadaj flipped his Souba into a reverse hand grip and held the weapon behind his back, his eyes flashing brightly as a bolt of thunder crackled down from the skies outside and lit up the ballroom for an instant.
The boy in the colourful armour raised his sword and span it around a few times, keeping Kadaj looking on with a slightly raised eyebrow. Then several small rocks seemed to appear from out of a strange portal above the boys head, hurtling towards him at a rapid pace. Kadaj's eyes narrowed as he quickly brought his Souba back around before him again, swinging his arm back and forth in swift movements, slicing each and every rock that came his way neatly in half. When the final and largest Comet came his way, Kadaj smirked and took a single step backwards, spinning his body in a full 360 degree circle, raising his Souba high above his head as he did so before bringing the twin-bladed weapon down in a hard slice against the Comet, slicing that clean into two pieces as well. Standing back up straight and giving the armoured boy a somewhat disappointed look, Kadaj shrugged his shoulders before extending his right arm and beckoning the kid to come towards him with a couple flicks of hin index finger. "Okay, you can have a free move. If that really is all you got, I'll end this match right now."

(OOC: Just to clarify, if you scroll up and read back, you blocked Multi-Hit. It was Blade Torrent that you let land, hehe.)
This time he was lucky... or so he thought, at first. His Turbo-Hit landed as he bolted down on his opponent from his momentum, almost as quickly as the lightning flash outside but his opponent didn't seem to be resisting or reacting painfully to his blows. He couldn't be that strong, that wasn't it; he was only blocking certain attacks towards his head and not his body. Strange, but he dodged backwards from the final blow, even thought the flurry of speedy attacks had only happened within the breadth of two seconds. He shrugged it off at first, thinking it was just this man's way of trying to prove how tough he was.
Without his opponent to push off of as he jumped backwards into the air, he had to flip back upright from his up-side down position, which was a bt harder to pull off. But despite the strain to pull off a feat against gravity, he did it, and began twisting his entire body in a spiraling circle as a portal formed in front of him. "Stars, unite!" he had called out, and responding to his verbal command, instantaneously small chunks of space rock came flying out the wormhole like a stream of overpoped popcorn. Only these would hurt much more, except when they did launch out at high speed, his silver-haired opponent thought himself as clever to stand in one spot, and negate the Comet spell by slicing through solid enchanted rock! Was such a feat even possible with that spell's strength?
At least when he had dodged his opponent's last attack, he had used the environment creavity to his advantage, instead of trying to destroy his opponent's attack recklessly head-on. Doing something like that was completely reckless, and went against Onion Knight's initcial thought, but admitted maybe the young man had learned to fight on how he felt which was stronger than reason. He had learned that lesson all too well, and considered that cutting through his empowered attack impossibly or not, it would have been the same as if he dodged it's slow homing capability. Past was the past and he had to let it go to move on quickly, or else not be able to keep up with what was being thrown at him, and untwisted his body as he allowed himself to drop back to the platform for the enemy's next movements. But what was awaiting for him next, was almost as unbelievable as a sword chopping through an attack which normally crushed through his opponent's guard.
Having ignored the earlier taunt the leather-clad youth had made to focus more on combat, the next flash of thunder almost seemed to break the flow of battle, along with the other male's proclamation. However, he kept moving forward to assault, a look of sheer disbelief - and then recognition - crossing his face. The katana-wielder had taken a hit before, somehow slicing through his devastating spell sure, but now he wanted the Knight of Light to try 'free move'? Either it was a trick, or more likely, he was taking the damage for a reason. Throughout his adventures he had seen his friends and enemies, as well as himself, draw on a power that was unleashed from gathering enough strength to reach a threshold in their unique potential.
Was his foe trying to use this hidden strength as his trump card? The Keeper of the Light of Courage let out a confident 'Huh' as he quickly closed the gap and reached close-range with the glowing-eyed adolescent, hopping into the air with one foot and began to spin about once more. Only this time instead of twisting his body into a circle, his blade swung out horizontally around his body as it spun hastily in the same direction as it picked up speed, Wind Shear sucking in Kadaj with just as much vaccum force as his Flame Pillar had to attempt to strike him with a whirlwind of devilish blows. He wasn't finished however as thunder rumbled explosively outside in the storm, and regardless of if his initial attack had pulled in the antagonist or not, he came out of his spin and landed on the platform just before Kadaj and exploded Firaga once more. Only this time it was at point-blank range, and the width of it's attack would be more difficult to dodge than at long range. "Whatever inner strength you are building up for, allowing me to hit you and relying on it to win is the foolish mark of an amateur. Nice try, but I'll conserve my strength, and take you seriously when you've earned it!" he remarked after he performed his attacks, so his words would not give his actions away, and grinned a little smugly under furrowed blond eyebrows.
If the Remnant was so confident his next move was going to end the match right then and there, which he highly doubted as long as he could anticipate what to do, he couldn't wait to show him is own special powers that the avatar of Sephiroth wouldn't even see coming. Or much less, stop with any slices of his twin-bladed katana. He was going to regret letting the Onion Knight getting a free shot in, which would only tack down his stamina more. He should have tried to finish him off when he had the chance. But such a harsh lesson Onion Knight had learned countless times himself on the battlefield, and could only be taught the hard way even if the villain won the castle from it's rightful owners, and stopped his prisoners who were currently escaping.

Kadaj could merely smirk at the young knight after he had finished dealing with his Comet spell, the twin blades of his Souba singing to themselves as they vibrated subtly after having been pushed close to their limits to slice each one of the rocks in half that came his way. The Remnant's arm was stinging afterwards, but he masked it well by covering it up with that smirk of his once more. The look on the boy's face wasn't exactly what Kadaj was expecting to see, but none the less, this colourful armoured boy was perhaps starting to realize just how much mess he had gotten himself into. A slight tilt of his head and Kadaj just let out a small chuckle, raising his right shoulder a little before rotating it around, warming himself up some more. His eyes flashed as a bolt of lightning struck down the blackened skies outside, the sound of heavy rain pounding against the glass joining in the symphony of battle and weather.
Watching as the boy quickly drew near, Kadaj gave his head a nod and promised to stay true to his word. Flicking his Souba around himself, the twin-bladed katana was quickly sheathed back into it's scabbard where the Remnant then extended his arms out to his side and welcomed the boy to attack. "Don't hold back on my behalf. Show me your true power." Yet what happened next didn't surprise the silver-haired youth at all. Infact, this was pretty much exactly what he was expecting. Another swift attack with plenty of speed but no power behind it. Several rapid strikes with the boy spinning around in fast circles, striking out one after the other until the final blow pushed the Remnant back into the stone banister surrounding the edge of the balcony. Fortunately, he missed the part where the chandelier had crashed into, otherwise he'd have fallen down to the floor below. Where that might have been more advantageous, Kadaj wanted to see this boys strength. Slowly placing his hand onto the banister and pushing himself back upright, Kadaj raised his eyes just in time to see another large fireball heading his way, much like last time. With a grin, the silver-haired youth stood his ground and took the spell, the fiery burn stinging his skin as the explosion knocked him clean over the banister. Landing on his back on the floor below, a loud 'thud' echoing throughout the ballroom, all that was heard when silence fell upon the room was laughter.
Still laying on his back, his clothes, skin and hair sizzling from the Firaga, Kadaj seemed rather tickled as his laughter just continued to fall from his lips. Eventually, he sat back up, a small wince escaping his lips as the hot leather attire stuck to his skin, mostly his arms and chest. Shaking his head from side to side, the Remnant Leader pushed himself back up to his feet and began to dust himself off. His attire as well as burnt was also torn to shreds as well. All the previous wounds taken earlier in the match were visible for a moment before the dark clothing once more liquefied and mended itself. Before speaking though, the silver-haired youth glanced up towards the second floor when he heard the voice of the youngster reach his ears. "Jumping to conclusions is also the foolish mark of an amateur, especially when in battle. You got the speed kid but your power isn't anything to be proud of." Raising his head upwards towards the second floor, Kadaj flexed his knees and jumped up before landing back close to where he was standing before taking the Firaga at near point blank range. With Souba still sheathed, Kadaj looked the boy up and down before shaking his head from side to side slightly. "I have powers you couldn't even begin to imagine. It is you who are foolish to believe you and you alone have what it takes to defeat me. Until you grow some muscle or find a sharper sword, you'll never defeat me. Your magic isn't much to brag about either."
Reaching an arm back, Kadaj drew his Souba once more and extending his left arm, pointing the dual tips in Luneth's direction. A grin still spread across Kadaj's lips, he still didn't seem to be taking this battle very seriously. While his inner strength had reached the point where the Geostigma was active once more, Kadaj knew that this boy was going to be waiting for the unexpected. So it was clear enough to trying to use it now would be a waste. Indeed, he was correct about deliberating taking attacks to power himself up, but it was actually more accurate to say that Kadaj was taking the attacks to prove just how strong he was on the outside. "You have no chance of winning, I'll tell you that now. So before you regret anything you say or do after this point, I offer you now one chance to turn away and leave. Stay, and be prepared for the worst."
