Kairi vaulted herself over to the left, narrowly missing a Neoshadow. Those things were more clever than they looked, and with the amount of number they had already. She bit her bottom lip for a moment, wondering if she could give the other fighters a brief advantage. The real fighters would be the two humanoid Heartless. Her azure eyes darted to the two briefly, dodging another swipe sent her way, only to have the Heartless be destroyed another moment later as she released another wave of light. The circle of Heartless that had been surrounding her were destroyed within an instant. Kairi looked up once again, sensing that perhaps both the girl and the man had picked a target to fight.
Her azure eyes widened for a moment, tracking their sight to Vincent and the young woman with the katana. She bit her lip for nervously, wondering what sort of cover she could provide. Well, there was one thing she could do, though it would drain her of energy rather quickly. Kairi knew that any advantage could be the turning point within this fight, though. The young Princess raised her keyblade before rushing into the wave of Heartless. "Blizzaga!" Shards of ice formed within the air, coming down in a hail, piercing several Heartless on impact. With a small opening cleared, the Princess held her keyblade out in front of her, closing her eyes. A few moments to concentrate, and she might be able to hold the Heartless back.
Kairi calmed her racing heart, her mind returning to the time when she had been in the castle of Hollow Bastion. When the other Princesses of Heart had been able to hold back the darkness that had seeped from the Keyhole. Inhaling deeply, Kairi felt the tendrils of light ease into her hands, before flashing light like a beacon, her keyblade reacting with the light as it began to shine brightly as well. The effect almost seemed to be instant, a small section of the Heartless seemed to be blocked by a barrier of some sort. Her azure eyes opened, and she felt slight disappointment that the area blocked was not larger. Kairi bit her lips for a moment, reaching for the light that filled her entire heart, and she gasped at the energy that rushed out at her slight prod. The feeling left her breathless, but it had increased the area where her odd barrier of light stopped the incoming Heartless.
"T-try fighting them now. It should be easier," Kairi replied softly, her focus returning entirely to trying to keep up this light barrier. Her keyblade seemed to float in front of her, glowing brightly as she used it as a conduit to focus her light into.

The two heartless seemed to be making negotiations. But, she was to busy fighting back these stupid heartless. Grr, it was just so irritating. Well, she was until she saw Rikku. A grin appeared on her face as she managed to squeeze a large wave in between her attacks. "HEY RIKKU!" She shouted over the noise of the heartless and blades. It was pretty loud too. Yay for her hyperness!
Then, well, the tall heartless girl was speaking to Vincent. The jerk. She should so just go away. Oh! This girl was going to get it! The stupid heartless people! Why would they attack Radiant Garden anyway? Gosh! They should so get a life!
But, the insult on them retreating with their tail between their legs set her off. As quick as possible, she swiftly shot a bolt of lightning towards the heartless women, Maurelle. It probably wouldn't hit her, but it'd get a point across. They weren't leaving without a fight.
Kairi seemed to be holding up and Vincent was moving to help. Rikku and Sera would be fine too. Hopefully Yuffie could hold up. There was just...SO many heartless! This was worse then a few years ago when the heartless attacked! Why weren't the heartless traps going off!

"You can have any of them. You can take Valentine. I want her. Seems we have another physic of sorts. I'd like to test her. Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. We can blind them." [/i][/center] It was Sera's turn for the reading and allowed her mind to reach towards Maurelle's in order to intercept the message while keeping her own barrier strong to prevent any hack ins. This psychic may not have known whom it was for (Despite the fact that she knew that it may have been aimed at the male with the orange hair and the grin of insanity.) but she knew that they were up to no good. (Aren't they always?) The others may be physically, willed, and heart strong but Grace has the strongest mind on the good side. Therefore, Sera stood a better chance against Maurelle, the psychic Heartless. The human psychic glanced at Vincent then at Valerius as she was unsure whether to warn him about the orange haired Heartless. Oh what the hell, they're cheating anyways...Vincent! Looks like you're the orange one's target so stay sharp![/i] Her mind then reached towards the red cloaked man to telepathically give him the message but the first half was thought to herself. That sent message made her pause on her Heartless extermination. A bullet pierced the Heartless that was about to hurt her and said Heartless disappeared into a cloud of darkness. Sera glanced at Vincent again and with a firm look, gave him a nod of gratitude before returning to slice and dice her set of Heartless. Then she felt the probbing of her mind again. A growl was emmitted from her throat as Grace glared at the female Heartless and suspected fellow psychic, Maurelle. Sera knew that she was the psychic's target and was only testing her, if the telepathic message that was intercepted by Sera was true. If Maurelle was planning on manipulating Sera to the point of possessing her, fat chance. This psychic just isn't puppet material so the Heartless may as well kill her. Not that she was going to ask her to. The visions were bad enough and having a Heartless on a mission to kill her is not going to help one bit.

Valerius smirked, still ready for this fight. It was so close and he knew this is what he was supposed to be doing. His eyes only faltered from Vincent to glance at Maurelle. "Heh. Gottcha. I got the vampire guy." With that, he gripped his blade tighter. This was going to one hell of a fight.
The blade was still it's red color, so even if it did attack a foe and hit, you wouldn't know it had and blood on it till it dripped off the end. It was a rather neat effect that he had tested before. With little effort, he took a wide stance in the middle of the heartless field and prepared his blade in a very offensive position before pointing it at Vincent. After I kill you, you'll just be a tally on my chart compared to the millions to follow you. I can't wait!"
Now, his illusions kicked in. His target was Vincent and everything around the two would seem to vanish for Vincent. The only thing that could be seen to the gunner would be Valerius himself. It'd keep it fair that way, Vincent couldn't go after Maurelle or help his team mates now. Seemed they were on their own now.
Valerius hoped to make the first slash, he swung his blade at Vincent in a horizontal motion.
(Valerius has left the site so Larx covering for him till I can find a replacement of some sort. Bare with me please.)

"In your dreams lady! We're never gonna retreat! You're the ones that are gonna get outta here!" Rikku yelled back at the raven-haired woman. There was no way they were going to let the Heartless win! Not now, not ever!
Vincent shot and destroyed several of the creatures surrounding her. making it a lot easier for her to use her melee weapons. She grinned, as she hopped backwards to get a better idea of how many she was fighting. They seemed to be endless! Where were they all coming from?
The Al Bhed girl charged forward, slashing expertly with her knives. She attacked the Heartless with agility, careful to avoid any of their attacks in retaliation. It was difficult since they were almost (if not just) as fast as she was. Rikku heard a fellow thief call out her name. When she had a brief break in her assault, she called out to her. "Hey Yuffie! Let's beat these bad guys!" Rikku said with a small giggle as she began slashing again.

The heartless number remained strong, there might have even been a higher number then there originally was. It was so much chaos and she was sure a number of villagers had been killed in the cross-fire. But, she couldn't be sure. A few of the townsfolk were probably defending themselves as well. Pitiful. Even these Heroes were trying. It was a futile attempt.
Maurelle's main problem was Seraphina. Yes, she had read a few crucial things in her mind. In comparison to strength, Sera had an easy win. But from the looks of her mental power, it should be an easy kill. That, or she could always manipulate one of the other people to attack Sera. That could be fun.
Well, the witch had intercepted her message to Vale. But, in turn, she blocked the warning to Vincent. A quiet voice whispered in Sera's ear. "Cheating? All is fair in love and war. Hope you knew that." The smirk on the heartless's face was plain and simple. The whip was being played with between her fingers as she began her slow advance towards Sera. With a pause, Mara double checked that her circlet was right where she had put it. Good, it was.
The circlet enhanced her psychic power and it was going to be the turning point in this battle. Mara stopped and closed her eye, the pressure on Sera's mental barrier had started. The battle or wits was going to end eventually. Mara knew she had this won. The heartless would defend her while she focused on her powers.

Vincent watched as he jumped supernaturally from rooftop to rooftop and shot at Heartless, at the astonishing amount of Light that was exuded from the Princess of Heart. It would hold the Heartless back, but Vincent wasn't sure how long, and shot at the Heartless that had clustered around Kairi's barrier to help ease the pressure she must be feeling. He turned the angle of his body as he quickly ran out of ammo, and reloaded Cerberus within a heartbeat like clockwork. He would have to swoop in and save Kairi if the Heartless onslaught became too much for her. He saw Yuffie shoot lighting out of the corner of his eye, and overheard the exchange between the two female thieves, but his main focus was on the voice that was suddenly projected into his mind.
Vincent! Looks like you're the or... was all he got, before it fell quiet. It sounded like Sera, but from a quick glance as he kicked away a few Solider Heartless on the surrounding rooftops, she didn't seem like she was interupted on purpose. He glanced back towards the two Heartless Horsemen, an saw the smirk on Maurelle's face. This must be of her doing. But his focus quickly switched within a fraction of a second, interpreting the warning Sera had tried to give him.
The Heartless Horseman in orange pointed his sword up at him, and issued a threat. Even if he hadn't figured out the warning Sera had tried to give him, who was about to attack him now was clearly obvious. Vincent wasn't the one who dignified petty threats like his with clever comebacks, only merely glanced down upon his assigned opponent in a unamused manner and jumped backwards out of the way in anticipation of his assault, missing him by inches. Suddenly, the illusion kicked in, and apparently he and the other male had been transported to another world in which he could not kiss the background scenery. Vincent took in the changing landscape behind the Heartless Horsemen for a mere moment before he squeezed the trigger on Cerberus as he fell backwards through the air from his jump, pumping tri-barrelled rounds at him. He would have to be quicker and less obvious than that, if he wished to score a hit on him, but Vincent counted on his opponent's weakness which he now identified. He was alert to the fact that this Horseman's power was creating things that were not quite as they seem, but he had destroyed a Heartless Horseman in the past on his own, and he would do so again.
The fight to save Radient Garden was on, and he was expecting a good match from his opponent, as he had just gotten warmed up...

How many Heartless were there? Would they grow in number if the citizens could not help themselves? It pained Kairi to know that there could be others dying, but she was doing more good here than anything. If she could keep the Heartless away, even for a little while, it would be worth it. The Princess of Heart felt as if she was doing something to help for once, instead of just standing there and letting Sora and Riku take care of everything for her. Kairi inhaled deeply, wondering how much light she could exude before it burned out of her. A humorless laugh escaped her lips, wishing Belle or Jasmine were here to help her. She could only be thankful that Kadaj was not here, or he would be sure to take advantage of all the light she was emitting.
Her azure orbs flickered to the others. It seemed both Sera and the Heartless woman were locked in a battle of minds. Quite literally. She closed her eyes, trying to focus her attention on this odd barrier she had formed. Like when the other Princess had done to hold back the darkness within the Keyhole. Her heart beat quite heavily within her chest, and Kairi knew this would not hold for long. Gunshots rand within her ears, and her eyes snapped open. Her head suddenly turned, azure orbs widening at Vincent. She shook her head, hoping he knew to focus on his own enemy. She was not worth getting hurt over.
Kairi was grateful, though. The Heartless only seemed to come right back, though. She winced at the strain, and she had to take a step back. The darkness almost seemed too much, but that thought sent an anger through her. Sora had been able to beat the darkness, so why not her? She reached out her hand, grasping the hilt of her keyblade. Azure orbs suddenly shining in determination, the Princess suddenly spun. The light that formed a barrier, suddenly arced outwards. The contact with the purity of the light burned the Heartless instantly, and when the light faded, an impressive amount of Heartless had been killed. Kairi inhaled deeply, holding up her keyblade and suddenly charging into the swarm of the Heartless.

Yuffie giggled at the response and winked. "Sounds good ta me!" Her response was cut short when she was full out rammed by one of the heartless. She had landed on her butt and everything. "Ow..." She whined as she defended herself. The heartless wouldn't quit it. But she stood strong and kicked the one at her foot before bouncing back to her feet.
Vincent, after helping Kairi suddenly seemed a little dazed. It was like he was in his own little world. Weird. But Vinnie got like that. But, Yuffie kept going. She'd helped take out Deepground, she'd helped with Sephiroth, she'd helped during Geostigma, and she'd even helped Sora on a few occasions. This was not going to stop her now.
Yuff was trying to make her way towards Kairi in a desperate attempt to help. If the two had each other back to back, it'd be one less thing to really worry about. Right?
So, she was on her way towards Kairi. "Save a few for me!" She teased.

"Cheating? All is fair in love and war. Hope you knew that." Sera felt a shiver crawl up her spine and her eyes simply glared at Maurelle as if her mind had confirmed her choice she had to make now or never.
Her mental barrier was meant to block the Heartless psychic from digging through her mind to reveal her other capabilities. Sera wasn't going to allow her to tear down the once complicated web of secrets that had started to unravel first, unintentionally, by Vincent during that one meeting but now this Heartless woman is trying to find some sort of mental weakness.
If this keeps up then maybe Sera should tear down the web herself. Hm, that was an interesting thought. The psychic had suddenly stopped focusing on the other Heartless except Maurelle. The other three girls she was not familiar with obviously have the ability to hold them off. Kairi herself had just proven this with that brilliant shield that elegantly arced outward to eliminate the Heartless.
It was right then that the witch felt the pressure on her mind as if trying to break down the mental barrier. It's going to take more than a push to take me down. A barely noticeable smirk was forming on her face as Sera had started to accepted the abilities she had long believed was a curse.
The witch had never been one for confidence, thanks to her long dead father, but it seemed to be overflowing through her like a current. The Shadows and Soldiers seemed to be defending the other psychic and will be Sera's obstacles. The numbers didn't faze her mind one bit as the pressure was still there on her mind.
"Don't underestimate me...Maurelle." The Heartless' name came to her mind naturally as it reached out to find the name. It was all she needed and her mind pulled back immediately as soon as the information was found. A weakness could be found there.
"Stay sharp. All of you." Stated Sera as she slowly walked toward Maurelle. Determination burned in her violet orbs but she was holding back the foolish urge to charge at her. If the witch had done so, she knew that she would regret it. For now it's time to slice the Heartless.
The pressure had turned into a pounding headache that she was only familiar with only because of large crowds. Sera can hold up for a while longer before the mind barrier either cracks or shatters altogether. That could be a problem.

Valerius blended his own background out as he took all focus on the now blind Vincent. If he truly wanted, he could trap the Ex-Turk in his own little world by himself. But, then that wouldn't be much of a challenge. Val was going to fight Vincent in all his glory.
So, as the gun was fired, Val flicked his sword up close to him to intercept a few of the rounds. But, he didn't just stand there, he advanced towards his target as well, but not at a running speed. It was just a slow walking pace. This was to ensure that no bullets made it past his notice. Personally, Val didn't want to be pulling bullets out later. It was a bit of a nuisance that way.
His eyes focused on the man in red once more, and not the bullets. At the moment, he was scanning for any visible weaknesses. Other then the fact he would run out of bullet and that he was not wearing full armor, he seemed to be a normal human. There was something eerie about the man that kept Val thinking. The 'glove' was a little freaky too. What person would walk around with a gauntlet, unless it was a weapon. 'A rather dangerous fashion statement...' Val thought to himself.
Well, back to the battle at hand. Vincent was still not in a close enough range. But that was fine since both parties were testing the boundaries to the other person's fighting skills. Vincent seemed to prefer long range and his defense was not induced for close ranged attacks.
Vincent MAY win in a gun off, but to a sword, he was like cutting open a watermelon. A little time consuming, but simple.

Okay this was getting ridiculous! Rikku had taken out a bunch of Heartless already, and it looked like she hadn't made a dent! She saw the same kind situation going on with the people around her. Yuffie and Kairi were busy fighting Heartless too. Kairi seemed to be doing alright (especially with that light attack!) but she didn't know how much longer she could hold out. She was glad her fellow thief was on the way over to her. Desperate times called for desperate measures. It was time to try a new strategy. "Try this on for size!" she shouted as light enveloped her. Her thief outfit was gone, and it had been replaced with her Black Mage ensemble, complete with her witch's hat, purple and gold striped leggings, and her intricate staff. "Fire burn and cauldron bubble!" she said grabbing her staff and twirling it a few times. This should make things a little easier. "I like mine toasted!" she said as she cast a Fira spell at the Heartless, taking out a good bit of them. Oh yeah, this was definitely working better than her daggers were. Rikku just hoped that she could keep it up. She wasn't the best mage ever. She had always let Yuna take care of that. She wasn't bad though. She definitely could handle magic. ((OOC: Black Mage))

Maurelle shifted to glance at Vincent as well as Valerius. The being didn't need her assistance yet and that was a grand thing. This would allow her more focus on Seraphina. The heartless were doing a wonderful job holding the other heroes off at a comfortable distance. This should be an easy conquer. Then, they could send all their forces to attack their main target, Disney Castle. If they captured the castle, it would all be over.
Yet the main battle was here at the moment and they needed to keep as many people as occupied as possible. Still, Mara was fighting to push back the barrier as much as possible, not so much to see anything as to destroy her confidence.
'It's going to take more than a push to take me down. Don't underestimate me...Maurelle.'
Maurelle tilted her head and smirked as well. "Heh. But not too much. Too bad I already introduced myself, you really didn't need to fish for a name." She has left certain parts of her mind completely open to read since they were not as important as other vital information.
At this point, Maurelle shut her eyes to concentrate more-so on her mental abilities. She could keep a mind's eye on the general area of people and their weapons. She'd open her eyes if necessary. Now all her mental focus was on Sera. Poor girl.

Of course, the human Heartless had deflected his bullets. Vincent was used to such things, having fought the likes of sword-wielders like Kadaj, but it didn't deter him in the sightest. If anything, it only spurred him on to succeed. The man started walking towards him confidently, but slowly to block his bullets, and in that time Vincent quickly reloaded within a second. He landed on the ground behind him as he did so, and re-thought his strategy. Obviously now was time for a change of tactics, or else the man was going to be blocking his bullets with his sword forever.
During his travels with Cloud and moreso during the Deepground Crisis, he had fought a lot of blade-wielders. Most of the toughest had been the Tsviets, as everyone save Azul in the group had a blade of some sort. And he had come out on top of them all to save the planet Gaia from the early revival of Omega Weapon, so it was only a matter of time until he found the masked man's weakness. The half-mask the man was wearing was creepy, but other than the knowledge that he wove illusions as if they were reality, that was all he knew for now.
From his position as the man walked calmly towards him, the moment he landed, he jumped back up in the air. But instead of shooting, he did some unexpected, and leaped towards the orange-haired man. He locked the barrel of Cerberus down to block the blade of the man, then unleashed a slash forward with his golden gauntlet in a horizontal slash, then in an uppercut motion followed by a spiral horizontal back-hand slash in a one-two-three hit combo. The man wanted to know why he wore a 'freaky' gauntlet, so why not show him what it did first hand? Oops, did someone forget to tell the Heartless he could fight in ranged and melee combat?

Kairi could feel her muscles burning from the constant movement, the adrenaline rushing through her veins. The swarm of Heartless seemed to be endless, and she was tiring rather quickly. Her little move had seriously drained her of energy. Of course, the Princess was certainly too stubborn to admit a fact like that. Twirling her keyblade, Kairi launched herself at another swarm of Neo Shadows. The little things were easy to kill, but always tricky to deal with. Her keyblade cut through the Heartless easily, the free hearts floating into the sky before disappearing. Breathing heavily, she jumped back, raising her hand quickly. "Firagra!" With the spell shouted, a dance of leaping flames erupted from her hands, incinerating the Heartless around her. Her heart was pounding against her chest, a sure beacon for the Heartless around her to try and steal.
Kairi surveyed the others around her, hoping they were not as hindered as she was. Rikku was doing quite well, and Vincent seemed to be handling his opponent. Of course, he own luck could not be accounted for. Distracting herself, crimson blossomed from the sudden uppercut given to her from behind. A gasp escaped her lips, and she suddenly stumbled to the ground, her pink dress now sporting three claw marks. Gritting her teeth, the Princess turned, raising her hand, and in a flash of blinding light, nothing remained. Kairi rose to her feet quickly, legs shaking and her back smarting in pain. Hoping no one has seen her falter, she sent herself back into the fray.
