The woman known as Oerba Yun Fang had been flying around her homeland searching the place for signs of her friends, but finding nothing. Becoming more worried and agitated by the futile hunt, Fang was on the edge of taking a rest when the unexpected happened. As Bahamut circled around to make a landing, a strange black portal opened up before them and pulled them in. Within seconds, Fang was knocked of her summon and sent spiraling into darkness. When all the spinning stopped and she was able to see again, she was falling head first through an area full of floating objects. A chair, a piano, a clock, and more zoomed by as she continued her fall.
Bouncing off some sort of cushioned furniture and almost colliding with a floating cabinet, Fang continued to fall until she ended up slamming into the "ground". A low “oof” escaped her lips as she hit. After a moment, she sat up wincing. She took note that she and her summon had landed in a strange place a split second before she realized that gravity was pulling down on her. Frowning, she tried to get to her feet only to find herself unsticking from the “ground” and falling a short distance onto another solid surface below her.
Hitting the second surface hard on her back, Fang remained motionless on the ground slightly stunned and winded as she looked up at the slightly spinning ceiling above her. She could hear her summon growling as it attempted to get to its feet. Sitting up once more—relieved that gravity was not pulling on her anymore—Fang looked around the area she was in. It was a strange room with brightly colored flooring and bricks. There was a large fireplace in the area, a chair and a table with two bottles resting on it, a book shelf with a teddy and book, a bed and a…faucet high in the wall. As she looked around, she could’ve sworn she saw a hole near the faucet and another near the shelf. Wherever this place was, it was very strange to Fang. Looking from her surroundings to her summon, she found the creature staring at her the confusion she felt mirrored in its eyes. After recovering a bit more, she got to her feet and decided to explore the place. While Bahamut would probably help speed up the process, something told Fang that it would be better to dismiss the summon for the time being and blend as well as she could in this strange place.
As if reading her mind, the summon nodded to her before taking a small leap back and disappearing. Once alone, Fang continued to look around the room until she found a door with a sleeping door knob. The door would’ve been a great exit, except the thing was super small and Fang was sure no amount of wiggling would get her through that. Sighing inwardly, she turned away from the small door and scanned the room until her eyes landed on a strange pair of bottles on the table. Curious at the bottles’ sudden appearance, she went over them and read the tag upon them.
”Drink me,” she read out loud. Drink it? Now why would she do that? For all she knew the bottles could be poison or a trap. Perhaps it was better to leave them alone. Fang moved to put the bottle down, but stopped as she looked back at the small door…..but then again what if the drink could get her through the door and what if said door could lead her to clues to finding her friends? It was hard to think of Vanille or the others coming to this strange place, but if they had been caught up in whatever that strange portal was then who knew. Fang thought a moment longer and then deciding to take her chance with the drink, she popped the cork out of it and then took a small sip of the liquid. While the liquid was bitter, nothing seemed to be happening to her, so she put the cork back in the bottle and shook her head. Why on earth had she believed that a drink could get her into a small—?
Fang’s thoughts came to a halt as she felt a strange sensation flow through her. Not sure what was happening, Fang found herself going from confused to startled as she began to shrink and shrink and shrink some more! The woman shrank so much that she thought that she would disappear, but thankfully she stopped. Taking a moment to make sure that she was still herself, Fang let out a relieved breath as she found she was okay….just really, really small. The table and everything else in the room was huge, making the woman feel like an ant in a giant’s house. Calming herself, she looked at the door once more. She was pleased to see that she was now the perfect size to go through it. Going over it to it, she found the snoring doorknob and gave it a twist. The door knob woke up with a start and started to telling her off for waking it up. The door knob talking was so unexpected that Fang was more startled and curious about the knob rather than angry with it for telling her off. Once she had recovered and the door knob had calmed down enough to inform her that she could not get through without a key, the young woman watched as the door knob yawned loudly before snoozing off again. As it snored once more, Fang stared at the door in disbelief. A key? Where was she going to find a key?
Placing her hands on her hips with a frown, she looked around the room again until something shinny caught her attention. Going back to the table, she looked up through the glass and saw her answer shinning above her. “Are you kidding me? I shrink only to have to find some way to get that key down here to open a single door?” she said clearly agitated by this simple matter that was now becoming really complicated. Grumbling, she headed over to the chair near the table to see if she could find some way to climb up and get the key. A she looked at the height, she figured she could fling herself up with her staff. Shaking her head again, she pulled out her weapon and took a few steps back before preparing to fling herself up onto the chair.

"Ah, so the bottle trapped another one."Jecht came out from inside the fireplace. He, too, had been unceremoniously dropped in here from a Corridor of Darkness. He also came in here and drank the potion and he, too, had shrunk down to the size of a mouse. He thanked his lucky stars that his sword shrank down with him, somehow. He sauntered over to the woman who had been trapped here with him now and inspected her. She seemed cute enough, although he kept his mouth shut about that for now. Considering the spear she was carrying, it was probably a good idea not to flirt with her lest he end up skewered. There was also something... mystical about her. Something Jecht couldn't quite put his finger on. Well, it didn't matter. They were both stuck here so they should work together. Before he showed his face, though, he hid his spikes. He'd rather get speared because he was a shameless flirt than a monster. "Before you ask, I got dropped here through one of those Corridor of Darkness thingies, so I ain't gotta clue what this place is." Jecht said, massaging his shoulder and cracking his neck. "All I know is that I drank the same potion you drank and got shrunk down to the size of a mouse." His tone let Fang know he was greatly displeased by the turn of events. He then looked up at what Fang saw and looked surprised. "What the?! I didn't see that when I got shrunk. That could've saved me so much time!" Jecht saw what Fang was about to do and waved his arms at her to stop. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Miss! Let The Great Jecht take care of this for ya!" Jecht then smirked and looked at the chair. He then bent at the knee and jumped all the way up to the seat. He then turned, backed up several steps and jumped for the table. He managed to get a hold of the edge and clambered onto it. He reached down lifted the key and jumped off the table, making the ground shake when he landed beside Fang, the key over one shoulder. "See? Ain't no problem!" Jecht thumbed his nose, looking pleased with himself. "Hows about you and I work together to get out of this place? I'm sure you've got people you're searching for. I'll help ya search for them in return for cooperation. Oh and the name's Jecht." Jecht flashed an arrogant, but friendly smile at the L'cie, still wondering about that something about her. ------------ OoC Note: Hope you don't mind Jecht barging in. Here's a theme to make up for it.

(Lol. You should know better than to think that I mind people joining my open threads from all the times I offer to thread with people XD. Thanks for dropping in to give me some practice with Fang ^_^).
Fang was so focused on getting the key that when she heard a voice coming from the direction of the fireplace, she halted what she was doing and looked towards the area a bit startled. It didn’t take long before the speaker revealed himself. He was a well built man with a wild look about him that told Fang that he might be the type to not run away from a fight and also that he had some strength to back him up. On top of this, he wasn’t that bad looking despite his strange choice of clothing. Still there was something odd about him that Fang didn’t quite understand. It was an aura that surrounded the guy that made her become cautious of him at first; however, the caution level dropped slightly as the man began to speak, explaining himself before she had a chance to form any questions of her own.
As he spoke, she simply raised an eye brow at his words. Without saying much he had given her the name of the dark portal that brought her here, confirmed that the drink above worked on anyone— human at least— that drank it, and that like her he was an outsider. So if the potion and the portals worked on anyone as was suggested by the man's words, well then, maybe her friends had come along this way and simply wandered off when they got shrunk. There were plenty of "caves" to go through and that door lead to other places to explore...or at least she thought it did. In any case, it was a bit hard to believe that the door had been unlocked before, but then again it could automatically lock after someone went through it. With that sleeping doorknob and all, Fang wouldn’t be surprised if the door had a mind of its own. Anyway, she still wanted to get through it to search for clues, which brings us back to the situation at hand. The man was not pleased at being shrunk and while she had drank the potion on purpose, the effects were still an unpleasant surprise, so she could relate to the displeasure. Unpleasant suprises aside, her attention turned back to the key as the man looked up and saw what she had been aiming to get. When he spoke about the key, Fang finally spoke.
“Tell me about. It would’ve saved us both time,” she said in slightly annoyed tones, letting the man know she was not pleased with the situation at all. “Don’t feel bad for not noticing it though. Even I didn’t see it. Things in wherever this is just seem to appear when they want to.” Something that would annoy the young lady to no end if this was a trait of the place they were in.
She sighed inwardly and then shaking herself mentally, she focused once more on getting that key down.
“Anyway, talking about it isn’t going to get the key down now is it?” she asked with a slight smile before preparing to make her jump again; however, she was stopped by the man’s speaking again. He was offering to get the key for her? Okay, then.
“Sure be my guest,” she said folding her arms with a slight smirk as he called himself the Great Jecht. It would be interesting to see if the man was all talk or if he could actually back the words up. She watched as the confident man jumped from the floor to the chair, then to the table, and finally retrieved the key. Instead of coming back down the normal way, the man jumped off the edge of the table with the key over his shoulder and landed on the ground next to Fang. Fang used her staff to keep herself from falling over from the quake he caused, wondering briefly what the guy exactly was before she straightened up once more and listen to guy speak. She smiled at the words.
“Yes. Yes. Very impressive. If you can keep doing things like that then I’m sure we’ll have no problem finding what I am searching for and our exit without much trouble,” she said in a playful tone before turning serious again and nodding to the man’s introduction and offer to help. “That sounds fair enough. I’m Fang,” she said returning his smile and then after a moment she walked towards the sleeping door knob. Stopping at the door, she placed her spear on her shoulder and tilted her head towards the door as she locked at Jecht, a faint smile remained on her lips.
“Now then. How about you be a gent and open the door for me, eh?” While Fang remained friendly, she still kept a cautious eye on her new companion. She had not forgotten about that quake caused by the “man’s” landing earlier.

Jecht chuckled a bit. He liked this gal and not only because she praised his athletic feats. Well, ok, mostly because of that. She seemed friendly enough, anyways, and hopefully a good fighter as well. "Fang, eh? Nice name." Jecht said. Then Fang asked him to open the door, to which Jecht dismissively waved his hand and started to walk towards the door. "Yeah, yeah, keep your dress on. After all, I'm got the only key outta this place." Jecht walked over to the door, seeing nothing strange about it. Although, last he remembered, there was that door he went just to get to this place that kept opening to a smaller door.
Jecht then shoved the key into the lock and turned. He heard the familiar click of the door unlocking... and then a choking sound. Wait, what? Jecht looked back at Fang. No, it wasn't her choking. Jecht then gazed back at the doorknob, only to find that it was apparently alive and very uncomfortable with the key shoved in its mouth. Jecht yelled a "WHOA!", jerked the key out of the doorknob and jumped back. "What in Sin's name is going on?!"
"Uuuughhh... why did you wake me up from my nap?" the doorknob said, yawning after the statement. "I was having the most wonderful dream, too, that I was taking a nap in a rather beautiful meadow and-"
"Hey, hey, hey, HEY! Quit jawing and let us through or I'll bust through that door!" Jecht yelled, still rather shocked at the sudden sentience of the Doorknob. So, he transferred that shock into rage, like he always did. Besides, he wanted out of here as soon as possible.
"Well, I would, but you have way too many friends. They'd never be able to fit through the door, I'm afraid." the Doorknob replied, beginning to nod off now.
"'Too many friends?'" Jecht asked, "It's only me and Fang he-." Jecht turned to find a large group of Heartless, consisting of Shadows, Soldiers and a few Fat Bodies, had arrived behind the duo and were making their way towards them. "Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me?! Here, too?!" Jecht yelled, furious at the development, "Get ready, Fang. Looks like some of these Heartless Fiends wanna play!" Jecht's spikes started sprouting from his shoulder and leg as he dashed at the group, slashing a few Shadows out of his path before headbutting a Soldier into a wall.

((This will do just fine.))
“Why thank you. You're turning out to be a nice fellow,” Fang said to his first statement and then waited as he came over to the door. He complained about her earlier comment about opening the door. “Oh really? I hadn’t noticed that, Mr. Slow Boat,” she sarcastically, but not in unfriendly tones. She could handle a complaint as long as the job got done. Besides, the guy was likable enough to let the complaint slide off without too much trouble. In any case, as Jecht attempted to unlock the door, there was a choking sound as the door knob came to life once more. Having seen the sleeping door knob once already, Fang was not too surprised by this. Jecht, on the other hand, didn’t take to well to the surprise.
Fang watched in amusement as Jecht and the door talked, taking note how shock quickly turned into anger for the man. She would’ve remained calm and quiet if the door hadn’t said it wouldn’t let them through due to the amount of friends they had. Fang frowned slightly. Friends? she thought before turning around to see what had come into the room as Jecht spoke to the door. When she turned, she saw that some strange beings had appeared in the room behind them. What they were was beyond her, but from the way they made her feel she didn’t like the creatures one bit. Watching them carefully, she lowered her staff, pointing it at the creatures that threatened them.
“Company,” was all she said before Jecht turned and saw the creatures that had decided to crowd the room. As she had first assumed, the creatures were anything, but friendly. As Jecht spoke, Fang raised an eyebrow at his words.
“Here too?” she repeated. “Did they follow you or something?” she asked and then focused as Jecht spoke, naming the beings as Heartless. “A fight, huh? Well let them come!” Fang said with a smirk and then watched for a brief moment as Jecht charged into battle. On one hand, she liked the boldness of the charge; however, the growing spikes did not go unnoticed. As he took down some of the Heartless, Fang added this bit of strangeness to the jump. So the “man” was really something else in disguise? Well then, she would have to deal with that little issue when they were a bit safer. For now, she was glad for the help from the stranger.
In any case, the pause lasted a second and then Fang was in motion heading towards the nearest of the ant like creatures. With a well placed swing the smaller being was sliced down. Not stopping, she twirled her staff as she turned to another ant and jab out causing the smaller being to disappear in a poof of blackness. Dodging out of the way of a swipe from a slightly taller and slightly armored creature, Fang swung her staff out horizontally causing the creature to stagger back. Without giving it a chance to recover, she swung again ending the creature’s life.
She heard some heavy stomping going on close by and turned to see a large and rather round creature heading her way.
“Want to play big fella? Well come on then!” she taunted the creature which only seemed to make it angry. As the creature charged, Fang charged back. When they were close enough to each other, Fang dug her staff into the ground and swung herself over the beast, landing safely behind it.
“Gotta do better than to hit me,” she told the creature as she moved in and swung her staff up vertically with enough force to send the creature flying off the ground. Bending at the knees, she leaped into the air and lashed out at the falling creature quickly as it fell. The pair landed at the same time. Fang remained unharmed as she stood up to see how the creature had taken the blows and fall. While the creature hit the ground with enough force to knock any creature nearby over, the large being eventually found its way to its feet, swaying slightly before it caught its balance and looked at her. The creature was damaged, but still willing to fight as it came towards her once more.
“Want some more then?” she asked as she took a defensive positin and waited for the being to come within range. She was very aware of the other creatures and Jecht; however, for the moment, the others seemed preoccupied with other things, leaving her and the big guy alone for a few more moments. ___________________________________________________________

Jecht glanced back at Fang. She was a good fighter, not having any qualms about taking on the Fat Body and, in fact, displayed a boldness that Jecht couldn't help but admire. Of course, he was not so lost in admiration that he couldn't stab the Soldier that was leaping up behind him. He noticed the Fat Body waddling towards him, as well as the group surrounding him. He smirked and back-flipped out of there before stabbing his sword into the ground and massaged his shoulder, cracking his neck as well.
"Hey morons! CATCH!" Jecht yelled, before a giant hunk of flaming rock descended from above. How the Blitz King managed to summon a meteor indoors would be a mystery for the ages. Jecht caught the rock, which was easily twice, if not three times as big as him and commenced with using Ultimate Jecht Shot, jumping into the air and hurling the meteor at the cluster of Heartless below. They never stood a chance.
As Jecht landed, his eyes caught sight of another Fat Body. He growled and started charging energy into his free hand as the Heartless ambled towards him. "Yeah, come on, slowpoke! You're about to enter a world of pain!"

((If I am reading right, there are two Large Bodies left, no? The one coming after you and the one with Fang? In any case, if I am wrong please feel free to let me know so I can fix the post.)) As she expected, the Large Body coming at her kept right on coming. Using a fake strike to the front to confused the creature, Fang quickly moved around the creature and stabbed it in its wide back side. As the large creature popped and faded into Darkness, Fang saw Jecht's powerful fiery attack that took out a good amount of the creatures in the area. Impressive, but still a lot of power for a human. Despite how odd the man was becoming, Fang still respected his skills in fighting. Like herself, he seemed to not mind the fight at all. It was almost as if he was having fun with the battle, but that was another matter altogether. Smiling at her ally’s actions, she saw the last Large Body waddling its way towards Jecht who seemed to have a present waiting for it.
Knowing her ally would have no problem with the huge creature, she focused on the smaller ones that moved about as if they didn’t know what to do. Too bad for them. Moving towards the nearest of the Shadows, Fang took the creature out with a quick blow to its back. As she killed one, the remaining four focused on her and came running over to circle her.
“My, my. You sure know how to give a lady attention don’t you?” she said as she watched each one with a smirk on her lips, waiting for them to move. The first to move was a Shadow that leaped at her from her right. Moving in its direction, the tip of her staff met the creature’s chest sending it back into oblivion. From there, the remaining three attacked at once. Perhaps they were hoping to take her down with their numbers and the different directions they were coming from. Unfortunately for the creatures, Fang was use to dealing with multiple creatures at one time.
Waiting for her targets to fall into the right positions, Fang swung her staff out in a wide horizontal swing that sliced through the attackers like butter. As the creatures burst into dark puffs around her. Fang relaxed as she placed her spear on her shoulder. She was a bit disappointed at how easy the creatures went down, but at least they were gone, so she couldn’t complain. With her battle done, she turned to see what Jecht had done to the remaining big guy.

As the Fat Body slowly... VERY slowly ambled over to Jecht, his charged arm reached critical mass. The Blitz King then launched forward and unleashed Triumphant Grasp, grabbing the Fat Body and pushing him with small explosions from the energy in his arm. Even with the Fat Body's girth, Jecht's attack did a hurting on him. It probably didn't help that Jecht that released all the energy in one massive explosion, launching the Fat Body before it faded into the darkness. Jecht then shook the energy out of his arm, before turning to Fang and thumbing her nose at her and smiling, his spikes receding into his skin. He then sauntered over to the doorknob to rant and rave at it some more.
"Hey! Our "friends" have gone! Now open up or I'll make you!" Jecht yelled, in no mood for the Doorknob's shenanigans. The Doorknob opened one eye and inspected the room, before uttering a long, laborious yawn. "Fine, fine, just you two... that's fine." The Doorknob drowsily said, before opening up. He then immediately went back to sleep.
"Sheesh, wish I could sleep that well." Jecht muttered before looking back at Fang. "Well, let's get going. It can't get much weirder than this." Jecht, however, didn't really believe what he was saying. Jecht had a feeling it could get much weirder than this. Jecht sauntered through the doorknob, his sword on his shoulder.
As they moved into the next area, there seemed to be a rather luxurious garden. Hedges bordered the area and an archway cut into the shape of a Heart met them. Jecht looked around and gave a whistle. "Nice place... but too big for my tastes, though." Jecht muttered, scratching the back of his head.

((*nods* Okay then, Mordred.)) As Fang watched Jecht take out the Large Body with the strange attack, suspicions of the man being something else besides human deepened within the woman. Still the show was very amusing. As he finished his battle and then turned to her thumbing his nose and smiling, the woman couldn’t help but laugh. He was definitely entertaining, she had to give him that.
“Very good show. Now then, let’s move on,” she said in friendly tones. Despite this, she had noticed the spikes going back down into the man when the battle was over, but by some miracle hid her suspicions well. In any case, Jecht didn’t really need to be told to move on for he was already at the door fussing at it once more. The door knob respond in a lazy and slow manner that made Fang almost want to kick it down to get through the door faster; however, she managed to restrain her impatience and let the door open on its own. When it was open the door knob went to sleep.
“Yeah. I can relate there. Must be nice being a doorknob. You get to sleep whenever and let others do the work for ya,” she said in response to Jecht first set of words and then chuckled about what he said next. It would be no surprise if something even stranger than what had happened in the room occurred in this strange place. It seemed that the only thing that could shock her was something normal happening, but in this place everything seemed to be random and nonsensical. The chance of anything normal happening was down to zero, but that was another story all together. Refocusing on the situation, Fang followed Jecht through the door and looked around the large garden with hedges and a heart shaped arch. The place was beautiful, but for some reason began to annoy Fang. She moved towards the arch way as Jecht whistled and made a comment about the place. She was quiet for a moment as she leaned forward and looked first to the left and then to the right, seeing nothing but more green paths to either side. Standing straight again, she let out a light sigh as she spoke.
“It is a large place and looks like a maze to boot. If we are going to make any progress on finding what I am searching or a way out we are going to have to find our way through here first. Hopefully, this won’t be a complete waste of time. It would really work my nerves if we explored this section only to find a dead end,” she said shaking her head as she formed a plan in her head. If the maze turned out to be a bust, then maybe they could try those caves in the room they had left. An annoying thought. If they had to search everywhere to find one clue as to where her friends were or a way out, so be it, but she really hoped it would not come to that. Hopefully, this maze would be enough and they could escape this place with a lead as to where her friends were or if they had been here at all. In any case, standing around thinking about wouldn’t help anything go faster, so lowering her staff, she pointed in the two directions they could go in—left or right.
“Alright then. Which way should we start our lovely stoll, hmm?” she asked and then fell silent waiting for an answer. While finding clues in this maze was the main priority here, it would also give her some time to learn a bit about her strange companion.

Jecht nodded as Fang talked about the maze. It'd tick him off, too, if it turned out that this was all a dead end. If that was the case, this hedge maze would get a impromptu remodeling, courtesy of Jecht and his sword. As it was, he didn't do that to begin with, in case the owners decided to retaliate. Jecht looked left then right, then scratched his head. They looked alike but just shrugged and pointed to the right. "Well, let's go right. Worse comes to worse, if it leads to a dead end, I make my own path through this maze." He then sauntered off in that direction, carrying his sword on his shoulder.
Jecht looked over his shoulder at the woman to make sure she was following and curiosity struck him like a bolt of lightning. "So, Fang, what's your story? Can't have ended up here by random chance." Jecht then immediately regretted asking that question. Once Fang answered his question, she'd ask about Jecht's story and that was something he didn't want to delve into too deeply. For one thing, he hated what he turned into, despite the fact that it really wasn't his fault. For another, this gal wasn't from his world, considering she never heard of Jecht or called him 'Sir Jecht'. Who knows how'd she react to what Jecht was or even what he used to be? "Errr... you don't have to answer that, of course. Everyone's got their secrets, right?" Jecht added, shrugging as well.

((Bah. It happens. ^_^)
The maze was not pleasing to Jecht either. The L’Cie could see it in the man’s eyes. As he looked from left to right trying to figure out a direction, Fang remained quiet as she watched the area careful for threats. When he finally settled on a direction and began to talk once more, Fang smiled at his words.
“Now that is an option I hadn’t considered. Glad you thought of it. It’ll help speed up our searching,” she said and then followed after the man as he began to head down the right path. There was a brief silence as the pair walked. Fang looking around the large maze wondering why someone would build such a thing as her eyes searched for clues to where her friends were or an exit out. As she looked around the area, she could see Jecht looking back at her from the corner of her eye, but didn’t give the glance much thought until he spoke. When he asked his question, she was not surprise. Meeting new people often involved an air of curiosity from both parties, so the question was almost expected; however, shortly after this the man seem to regret the decision and began to say she didn’t have to answer. It was a way of getting out sharing information, but unfortunately for the man, Fang had already seen enough to keep her curious about her companion.
“Yeah. I suppose we all do have our secrets, but at least how I got here isn’t one I mind sharing. I was searching for my friends back home, but was unexpectedly taken by those…what did you call them? Corridors of Darkness? Anyway, that thing removed me from my home and threw me to wherever this is," she paused as she let out a short "heh" before continuing. "Trust me if I had a choice to go anywhere, a place this weird would be far off the list. What about you, hmm?” she asked as they were forced to take a left and then travel down another long straight path. She wasn’t expecting the man to spill out everything or even confirm he wasn’t human, but she was sure that eventually she get her answers if they kept this casual Q and A up.

Jecht scratched the back of his head again. He didn't like telling people about himself, mostly because he had a "what you see is what you get" attitude. Then again, there was a lot about him that he kept secret. Either way, Jecht didn't like leaving a pretty woman like Fang hanging. That would be just rude of him and he was trying to be a better person, latent Sin powers and rough exterior notwithstanding.
"Err... not much to say, really." Jecht lied. Even he knew she had to have seen his spikes. They were kind of hard to miss. "I was working as a mercenary on a world called Twilight Town before I kept getting tossed around by these Corridor things. Beyond that, I've just been wandering, seeing if I can settle down some place, but I don't think that'll happen anytime soon. Trouble seems to just LOVE me, if you catch my drift." Jecht then sighed and decided he could tell at least something about his former life in Spira. He didn't have to divulge that he once killed thousands of denizens while under the control of a crazed Unsent summoner.
"Before the merc job, I lived on a world called Spira, where I was the best Blitzball player ever! Err... you're probably not interested in that... Got a kid named Tidus. Headstrong, too ambitious for his own good and a bit of crybaby, but he's a good kid. Then again, aside from the crying, he gets the other two traits from me, I suppose." Jecht felt a little sheepish saying that, but oh well. He couldn't deny the truth. "Anyways, that's about all for me." Jecht finished, looking up at the hedge walls, deciding a change of subject was needed. "Who MAKES mazes this big?"
Hey, no one said he was any good at changing the subject.

Fang listened as Jecht talk not really buying his lie, but then again not pushing him into talking about things he didn’t want to talk about. “Twilight Town? What’s that place like?” she asked as she heard the name, raising an eyebrow as she began to wonder how many other worlds were out there. If there was a lot, then she might never find her friends or get back home again. It was a distressing thought that Fang quickly pushed away. No. She would not abandoned her quest that easily. Whether or not she got home or not again, Fang wanted to know her friends were okay. It was the only way, she could be at peace. In any case, she smiled at Jecht comment about trouble loving him. “Well that is something we have in common. Guess it was no surprise those Heartless showed up with the both of us present, eh?” The worlds were playful; however, the playful nature became serious as Jecht sighed. She could sense something was bothering him, but what it was exactly she wasn’t sure. So she remained quite as he spoke again.
As he spoke of Spria and blitzball, she tilted her head questioningly at the words. She had never heard of either, but was curious none the less. “I’m not so sure. Why don’t you try explaining it to me,” she said to his blitzball comment and then fell silent as he began to talk about his kid. It made her smile slightly as she thought about Hope. She wondered how the kid was doing in this new chaos. He was certainly strong on his own, but having others around to help was always a good thing for the kid. She hoped wherever the kid was that he had fallen into good hands and was okay. In case, she push the thought of Hope away as she nodded to Jecht as he stopped speaking. “Your kid sounds like a good guy. I hope he’s alright wherever he is,” she said and then came the sudden change of subject as Jecht asked about the maze. Okay, that was not where the conversation was suppose to be going. She was suppose to be figuring out about those spikes; however, she had to admit the maze was getting annoying. Even though they had been chatting a short time, they had already taken at least three turns, come to a dead end, and was currently going along another straight and narrow “hall” within the maze.
While she was about to answer the question with a “I don’t know” before simply asking what she wanted to know, another voice spoke up first.
“Who indeed?” it spoke with a light chuckle. Fang stopped where she was and turned to look around for the speaker, but no one was there. Not like this invisible follower she spoke to the air as she continued to search for a body.
“Where are you?” she demanded.
“I am here and I am there. Or perhaps I am everywhere,” the voice said with that same chuckle. Fang’s anger flared at this toying.
“Show yourself!” she snapped. Oh why did she say that? A few feet away a head of a black cat with blue stripes appeared in thin air. It watched them amused with deep green eyes as a wide smile spread across its face. Fang took a step back a bit shocked at the sight. In response to her reaction, the cat only chuckled as the smile deepened into something almost malicious….. __________________________________________
(SQUEEE!!! I love this cat! XD In any case, this is not the cartoony one from old Disney. This Cheshire is the more serious one found in the Tim Burton's version and its nature more like the way it was written in the book. )

(Hooray for creepy stalker cat!)
-------------
Jecht scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, he's a good kid. He's probably gathering his own Blitzball team right now. Speaking of which, Blitzball... well, it's like this-" Unfortunately, he couldn't get around to explaining it because a very creepy voice started speaking. When Fang asked where it was, the voice was merely cryptic. Jecht HATED cryptic speakers. Finally, Fang demanded the voice show itself and the voice, appearing as an equally creepy cat with an equally creepy grin. Jecht jumped back a bit and gripped the handle of his sword tighter.
"Why did you go and do that, Fang?!" Jecht exclaimed, scowling. Jecht gazed back at the malicious-looking feline and was ready to strike a moment's notice. However, it could talk and unlike the doorknob, the cat didn't look like it was going to sleep anytime soon. So, Jecht decided to interrogate the feline, as crazy as that sounded. "Ok, where are we and what are you? And some straight answers, none of this crypto-babble. Jecht was sure the cat would not give a straight answer, but Jecht could try at least. Worse comes to worse, Jecht would have a nice fur hat to wear.
He had to admit, though, the cat did distract Fang enough so that she wasn't asking any more questions about Jecht's past. Jecht gave him props for that timing.

(XD)
Jecht had taken the compliment about his kid well enough and began to speak of blitzball once more. He was on the edge of explaining exactly what it was, but stopped as the strange voice began speaking. When the cat head revealed itself, Jecht’s reaction was similar to her own. The man was alarmed by the appearance, expressing what he felt in action and words. When he blamed Fang for what had happened, she frowned a bit.
“Hey, I didn’t expect a floating cat head to greet us. I just wanted to see what was following us!” she responded back a little agitated with the situation. The cat, on the other hand, simply chuckled as it watched them with amusement.
“And what is so funny?” Fang asked turning her annoyance towards the cat. She wasn’t exactly trusting the cat and it had ruined the opportunity to gather information on Jecht.
“That would be my little secret wouldn’t it?” the cat responded to Fang and then turned its green eyes and smile to Jecht, who was now asking questions that she should’ve asked earlier. Too bad the shock had stunned her and he had gotten to questioning the cat first.
“Where, oh where are you, you ask? Or perhaps you want to know where you are not?” the cat head said and then vanished! Fang looked around the area for the cat, but found herself jumping as something soft brushed against her. As she hopped back and looked down, she saw the floating cat head now had a body. The cat was not plump, but it still was healthy and a bit of a fluff ball for that matter. She began to wonder if it perhaps belonged to someone. An odd thought, but then again, a talking cat belonging to someone would probably be normal here.
In any case, her weapon was now leveled with the cat ready to strike should it do something threatening. She could see that Jecht was on edge too; however, the cat seemed oblivious to their mood as it laid down in the space between them in the strangest fashion. Instead of curling up in the normal fashion of a cat, this cat laid down on its belly with it back legs stretched out and its front paws resting under its chin as it looked up at Jecht mischievously. The actions were human; however, Fang did not have time to ponder this new strangeness as the cat spoke again.
“Underland or perhaps Wonderland is what this world is called,” the cat replied as it swished its tail the smile never leaving its face. “As for what I am, I am cat. TheCheshire Cat to be precise,” it continued and then vanished once more before it appeared once again on a hidden shelf on the otherwise smooth hedge wall. It was well out of reach of a normal attack. It would take a leap or a well-aimed throw to get that cat down. Annoying, but Fang figured the cat had moved out reach just to annoy. In any case, the next set of words made her blood run cold.
“But what are you two is the question. A woman that controls a dragon and a man that can grow spikes from his body and leap to amazing heights. You are certainly not normal. In fact, you almost blend right in. Of course, you lack the madness that is here, so in the end you don’t blend at all. Oh do share what you are. Human monster, monster human? Tamer of beasts or an untamed beast? Oh what, oh what can you be?” the cat asked, a chuckle turning into something similar to a slight growl followed the words. It was not a good thing to hear.
To the question, there was a silence. Fang wasn’t sure how long the cat had been watching them, but it had been around long enough to see Bahamut and also the battle with Heartless they had. It was not comforting thinking the cat had been following and listening all long and the fact it was now asking for information that she would rather keep to herself, her comfort level dropped well below uncomfortable.
“That is none of your concern,” she said coldly as she glared at the smiling cat. Maybe if the question had been posed to her by Jecht rather than this cat, the woman might’ve shared a bit about her past in turn for a bit more of his own; however, the cat pushed all curiosity down to a low. Right now, the woman was focused on this cat that she was sure was anything, but friendly or good news.
It knew too much and seemed to hold some secrets of its own. If Fang didn’t know better, she would say the cat was simply amused with that big smile on its face; however, there was something in the cat’s eyes that screamed it was just as troublesome as it was helpful. The feeling made it hard for Fang to trust or understand this strange, strange cat.
